Love the green. Super happy to hear that you are not changing that.
How about some green work mats and kneeling pads?
I love the green!!
Not exactly a suggestion. But I think the color of the cases are perfect honestly I think yall hit it perfect!
Empty bit boxes and holders. I make my own sets. De Walt is the only company that offers them. Bosch offer boxes in two sizes, but now holders.
for the trays, mold a few magnets under the tray. in the rubber. that way screws inside the tray won't fly out. like a thin line magnet around each edge of the little tray areas. just a thought. love those trays!
Storage case mod is a no brainer. Everyone clearly wants storage cases that snap together for easy transport. That is why Packout and other knocks ofs of them are taking over portable storage market.
A large table top. Tray for display
Love the growth green and gellies .
It’d be cool if you made the parts bins be able to click into themselves like the Milwaukee pack out system. It would nice to have a bigger silicon parts organizer with a lot of organizer pockets surrounding one big pocket.
Agree. Cant believe this even needs to be recommended to them. Almost feels like they arent even watching the market. Interconnecting portable storage systems have completely taken over.
Im a storage and pozitive inventory nut. So, I can add a few ideas/improvements. I like this stuff A LOT.
So, for the cases. I assume the bigger cups and be moved around, so 2 small cups up 1 big cup down (no girl), and viceversa. Like the Craftsman thing. I use mine for lightbulbs. All the bulbs are there, 1156s, 1157s, colored glass, single or dual filaments. Though the CM isnt as tough, it does work for bulbs, since I gotta be more ginger with them lol. But, that does have that stackable feature, with was nice.
So maybe adding a locking mecanisms on the sides, for multiple cases of the case size? Not sure if thats worth it. If a customer just buys one, then probably not worth it. If they buy, 2, 3, then maybe? Maybe it can be an individual clasp thats separate (so not on a hinge, though it could be lost?).
What I would like is foam for shadow lining. Both my boxes are shadowlined (using yoga mats, EVA foam), or, pins for sockets, labeled, where only that one tool goes. Some sets of sockets dont have a particular size, so I wil put a "mock socket" made from foam tubing, that goes there. No empty spots at all! (I should do a video on my toolbox, but been sick, heart bs, but before I do that, I do want to buy some of the tiny baby ratchets you have!, and to represent VIM)
The big problem with foam shadowlining is cost. Either in money or time. In the military it was our eras equivalent of peeling potatoes in WW2. And I did it myself, because Im insane and OCD. There are companies that provide the two color mats, but the cost in insane for a single mat (that wont even fit most drawers). Then there are the laser done ones but theyre even more pricey and often will have some imperfections, since they go based on a photo.
There has to be a way to make a "kit", the foam, top layer, and bottom layer (that can be thin, and wont be cut to a weird shape) and some specific cutting tools? Maybe a set of socket shaped blades? A few rulers (specific for the task), and have it all as a kit, for shadowfoaming.
Not sure how many techs out there would do this, but, then again, with the effort some put in for the paint, lights and other mods, maybe.
I will say this, the green will match one of my Challengers! lol.
What about a thin version of the storage case? Lots of assortment kits for shops come in like a cheap tackle box type case that never holds up for more than a couple weeks before latches are broken. If you had a case that was like half the depth of these cases it would be great to use for drain bolt and washer storage cases, light bulb storage, electrical connector storage, a/C fittings / gaskets, the list goes on. The length and with of these cases is great, but an option that was half the depth would be useful for those small parts type storage!!
So basically you're paying 3-5x the price for literally the same thing from Harbor Freight (slight differences on how the containers are stored in the plastic cases, but they accomplish the same thing).
FYI - harbor freight sells those exact same trays in blue for 1/2 your prices.
make sure you dont record to .mp4 format. if for some reason the recording is interrupted, the mp4 file is essentially unusable. record to .mov
With the silicone mats, have you thought about trying to make one that has both sizes together like if you put them side by side?
I doubt you can change the color to black on those trays but that’s be cool. I just purchased my first vim product. I bought some extensions and can’t wait to see how they are
Edit:just saw where you guys said can’t change the colors 😆 I might just buy myself one of those silicon mats anyways.
I would also like to see a maybe 10”x6” silicone tray maybe? Just something for putting my extensions in. Maybe with little slots to separate them?
locking mechanism with attachment to two wheel hand cart for those storage cases also make a deeper one and a tool bag that attaches to the top of the stack. Also make drawers everything with locking mechanisms that are stackable. I second the kneeling pad and mat.
For the trays, maybe something longer and narrower to be used as a tool holder, like it sits on the firewall, fender, or the radiator grill area. Also maybe integrate with a fender cover.
Quick question, do yall make a 1/2in drive impact torx50? And if not could it be on your list? Being a GM tech and having to replace steering wheels under a recall, they use a T50/ powertorx 47 and a metric crapton of thread locker so cutting out an adapter from 1/2in to 3/8in would be super helpful!
I have a couple of ideas. I'm just a DIY'er so take my ideas for what they're worth. Maybe sell the little green compartments in the storage trays seperate incase anyone just wants to put them in a drawer of their toolbox as organizers. Also on the silicon trays. Not a change but an addition. I think there is a silicone tray on the market called the boltster. I could be wrong but it's basically just a silicone tray for bits or it can be used to stick screws & bolts in when disassembling something. It would be cool to have one in green.
Maybe on the case on the Handle or by it. A spot where u can write on it like a wipeable area so when I stack them
Don't change the green. That's your color at this point n I happen to love green tools.
Stackable storage is ALWAYS nice...🤔
How hard was it to find the exact same manufacturer that makes harbor freight’s silicone trays? I mean bro, you guys didn’t even change the shape at all. Just changed the color. Wonder where I can get the exact same tools you sell for less? Looks like it’s becoming clear.
When will the NCP1 be in stock?
