I always find feeding Sims harvestables really frustrating, it seems like they get hungry really fast afterwards, even if they eat like six or seven? Going to the bar for chips fills them up a lot longer.
I recently did a rags to riches challenge where my starting sim was an elder on a short life span, and they had to adopt an heir (and they had to age up naturally into a teen) before they died. It was rough, and only succeeded because Grim was feeling kind, and listened to the kids pleas. Definitely worth a try if you want a short but intense challenge
That's what I was thinking! Especially because they only sell for 1 simoleon anyway. I'm playing the rags to riches challenge and have the typical massive garden and painting set up, but I always keep some of the cheap fruits/veggies in their inventory for food if needed because wild harvested mushrooms aren't really worth anything anyway and eating a handful of them can fill your sim's hunger need pretty quick.

Stanley is a legend. Guy dresses like a hot dog, moves in across the street from a stately mansion to spam a bunch of plants misleading the neighborhood into thinking he's a start-up community farmer who ~just needs to sell to market for the winter and then I'll sell direct to you guys in the spring~, makes his neighbor dump her family and then DOESN'T EVEN ASK HER OUT (unless I missed that part), and then at the end of winter he's like GOTCHA and builds a weird tiny house in the most expensive area of Willow Creek. Absolute legend.
i think it's just randomly generated. maybe a hidden trait that gets randomly assigned? either way, some sims like fruitcake and others don't. i've even seen it mentioned in patch notes.

"I have to make sure no other windows are up and running... start the game... Screen pops up... My game crashes at start up... Ctrl+Shift+Del... time to try again." It usually will load the second try. *Shrugs.*

She started with nothing, yet at the end, she had a certain amount of money + assets that also had a value. Together they were worth in total more than 10k. Selling them or not doesn't change anything to the outcome of the challenge, the fortune was made. 😅
@@LetiziaCamboni Listen hunny, it isnt that deep and you don't have to use big explanations to make yourself sound cool. its a sims challenge. at the end of the timer she set, she didnt have 10k in her account. which means according to the rules, she didn't earn more than 10k in 30 minutes 😉😬
Short run, gardening might not be the best option, but in the long run you can make so much money by just gardening. My sim makes like 20k per harvest and she maxed out the gardening skill so it's really easy to take care of the plants too.
I've been playing a rags to riches that began in winter, inspired by LilSimsie's piano bussing attempt. So she started off playing piano at that lounge. By the time she had done it all day, a lot of collectibles had spawned behind the lounge, even though it was winter they were easy to see. At that point she could afford a tent, and what more could a young Sim want?
To make searching for decorations more efficient put the box in a tiny space so all items get transferred to the household inventory and you can stack the action

It actually might have been a good idea to go to the Humor & Hijinks Festival.... If you go and drink to be on a team, play jokes and pranks against the opposing team, you could win fireworks. And those fireworks aren't cheap!
The best way to speed run rags to riches is trying to fish the Violin. Sometimes you can get like 10 of them in one day. It's always a great way to start and build a home with the money

@@Framlii Doesn't that require some time to freshen up on Archeology, logic and gardening and some other possible skills in order to go through the temples, though?
@@nyxitylee2094 not really. You build archaeology skill by digging holes and that is where you find artefacts. The only issue is that you will need pay for rent but you also technically have to pay for lot so I think it's fine.

I just remember that to get to the temples you had to have skills or purchased items to get through without having to back track because you got an illness or couldn't get through a trap without near killing yourself. Unless this method means only looking into the dig sites and then spending an incredibly long time waiting on your sim to extract the cursed thing...
The 'Humor and Hijinks' - Festival is actually a GREAT opportunity to get money! You just join a side, make them win by executing a few actions an _boom!_ you get 100 (?) simoleons and a voodoo-doll that can be sold for about 1000 (?)
My hair was faded green then I tried colour correcting with red so it turned flame orange so I tried colour correction again with blue then it came out dark green so I added purple and you can see the result in the newest video on my channel. You can also see one of the greens it was since my hair has been green since a week after the 2 videos before that's rainbow hair... Winter time, when, most of the time, fishing is not an option... I ALWAYS wonder why Kayla never ever lock the door of her houses. At the very least, lock it for vampires. Also, adding the «Private house» lot attribute should help keeping Vlad away. Need top plant mushrooms. They are cheap, nourishing and get from just planted to harvestable very quickly. Also, if a trash plant start to grow, KEEP it. You can eat it's fruits.

easiest rags to riches: get a tiny residential 32 x 32 lot and then buy sketchpad digital and idk why but like only playing for an hour with this i got to 50k simoleons not even kidding
You should do a build where you build the roof first then move onto to the second floor and do the floor plan. Once the floor plan on the second floor is done build the first floor. So basically build from top to bottom rather than bottom to top

When I need seeds to make that good good gardening money, I just make a couple holidays that include the gnomes. There’s a guide on what gifts to give each gnome so they don’t break your stuff and always give you seeds. Sure, they’re super annoying spawning all over your house and blocking your fridge, but it’s so worth it for the free seed packets

You know what makes a surprising amount of money? Archaeology skill. You can sell collectibles to make enough money to go to Selvadorada for a day (and buy a pop up archaeology bench), dig up lots of artifacts, identify them on the bench, sell them for money, and then when your skill level reaches 9, they'll actually send you artifacts in the mail every day or two and pay you several thousand simoleons for identifying them and then sending them back. It's an excellent way to make lots of money without a top level career.
Ok, I know this is old but I can't believe I have to tell every single game changer this. In a tiny/micro house, you only need ONE sink, you just place it in the kitchen near the bathroom. ONE sink for tiny houses.

• Froze him close to sunrise and let him defrost slowly
• Unleashed chaos at his place (Armageddon)
And what I didn't put is what I forgot....oh right....there was the Pepsi Man assault....
You know what makes a surprising amount of money? Archaeology skill. You can sell collectibles to make enough money to go to Selvadorada for a day (and buy a pop up archaeology bench), dig up lots of artifacts, identify them on the bench, sell them for money, and then when your skill level reaches 9, they'll actually send you artifacts in the mail every day or two and pay you several thousand simoleons for identifying them and then sending them back. It's an excellent way to make lots of money without a top level career.
Ok, I know this is old but I can't believe I have to tell every single game changer this. In a tiny/micro house, you only need ONE sink, you just place it in the kitchen near the bathroom. ONE sink for tiny houses.
