- Eastern Ghats start parallel to east coast starting in Odisha, travel through Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and culminate in Nilgiris of Tamilnadu. The highest peak is 5500 feet in Nilgiris. These mountains supply a large volume of water to the rivers. Sadly man is destroying these mountains in the name of development and his greed for building his home.
The Gudisa Hill Station is a Paradise for many things. The Sunrise and Sunset can be witnessed from this hill station, which must be unique. Normally, you don't get to witness both from one location or a place. This place has two faces like a coin. If one can view glorious sunrise, mountain peaks that are below one's eye level and clouds forming like a carpet around these peaks, you have a panoramic view of verdant hills on the other side. After one climbs down from a hill top after watching the sunrise, we can move to the opposite side of the hill station to watch verdant Eastern Ghats whose beauty will mesmerize you. The nature over here is pristine. You can keep admiring the beauty for hours together and forget the world.
This place is around 460 km from Hyderabad if we travel via Palvancha, Kothagudem and Bhadrachalam. But if you travel via Vijayawada, Rajamahendravaram, Rampachodavaram then the distance gets stretched by another 80 km. One has to find a place to stay anywhere around Maredumilli and then hire a vehicle preferably a high chassis vehicle to travel to Gudisa hill station. Make sure you arrive by 5:30 AM on the hill station.
