Thanks for the update on Tula and the basic training. I am looking at getting my first Boykin Spaniel. I grew up in SC and have been very attracted to them. We have always been a lab family but I have a feeling this is about to change. All the best sir
Are you going to continue training videos? I am getting my first boykin spaniel in a few weeks and would like to have all the help I can get. Thanks again
Have a 3 year old male Boykin. He had some obedience training when he was 6-8 months, but since then has been more of a companion without any advanced field training. Can some of these techniques be used to try and change some bad habits that he has? He's a really good boy but is actually spoiled a bit.
That is the most nonsense way of teaching. Of course they have to learn they have to work. But there is no need for pain. Especially not in this early stage. Try motivated training. It works faster and does not ruin the more sensitive individuals.
Brushy Golfer, We take great pride in ethical training practices. These dogs are considered our family and but also athletes that need to be trained. We do not use force through electronic collars for young dogs such as Tula but we will use verbal and pressure points to achieve a desired action. However, the statement you made indicating that this video is cruel is simply incorrect. Please feel free to reach out via email or phone if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Valley Way Kennels
You obviously don’t know very much about dog training, using verbal commands and pressure points is one of the most ethical and effective ways of training.

Where did you learn to force fetch a dog? I’d imagine ear pinch or toe pulling would be history by now.

So is force fetching just for if you’re going to use your dog as a hunting dog?
Is a 6 month boykin to old to get
