Thank you :) That's always a really fun aspect that I enjoy when working with brands, is the challenge of trying to not make an 'ad' seem like an 'ad'! Really appreciate the kind comment!
Wow, Nicole, blown away by this video - the quality was amazing, from the cinematography to your presenting. Killing it! I'm very much looking forward to more.
Made one. A truly wonderful experience working in a magical place with inspiring people. Being part of the San Miguel Rich List is a well deserved recognition
Incredibly professional, and very VERY well excuted. I love this video for many of reasons, but your poise and presentation along with the cinematic sequences has to be my favorite reason why this video is so professional.
One of my favourite videos of yours! Didn't feel like an advert at all, just full of artistic cinematography and passion! Plus, you are so wonderfully natural in presenting. Loved it!
This is by far my favourite video of yours! I do love your other videos but this is on a whole other level. I love the shots of you taking to the camera but having someone hold it as opposed to you holding it or having a tripod it I just love love love it! The quality was fantastic the shots were amazing! This video gave me serious Jacksgap vibes while still being your own and it was just so incredible! Well done! 💕
Thanks so so much! Yes, Jacob was the magic man behind the camera making it look all nice, but I appreciate the awesome comment, makes me motivated to continue making more of these!
Im not a surfer but did do some skimboarding back in the days. Made my own boards as well. But these boards looking stunning! The grain with that finish is AWESOME!
I agree with everyone in these comments. Whether it's your style or not, it really does match the setting, the surf and the content you made here. Explore some more, this was a great video!
Thanks Philip! Yeah, I actually preferred the more 'presenter' type vibe to be honest, so it was fun to play around with different video styles :) Appreciate the comment.
What an awesome and inspiring little film Nicole - as many others have said, this style of film seems really natural and really suits you! Also as a Brit living abroad (Swiss Alps) with strong family connections in Cornwall, it was a lovely little reminder of home too! Keep it up!
That was an amazing documentary that hooked me up from the very first second. Love your vlogs but I love even more this style of videos. Very cinematic, and so well told. Congrats!
This was amazing Nicole. Just like I've seen other comments make, it does not feel like an ad what so ever. Such pure, organic passion shun through this video. Thank you for the great video - looking forward to more :)
I love that you are so passionate about this and it shows in the video and makes it so good and so inspiring and I also looove the surf-part and the shop and the whole idea about sustainable surfboards!! I missed your videos haha
Next time you come to Brazil, visit the south. I work with the biggest Kayak maker in the world and if you come to Brazil we can make something happen. Have a great week.
Got the hairs standing up on the arms watching this Nicole. You NAILED THIS #ad, be proud. Can't believe that was your first surf in the UK though haha.
Yoh, thank you so much! I think standing up arm hairs is one of the best compliments, so I'm super happy that this video could give you that type of feeling!
Awesome video! Love watching fellow South African TH-camrs and vloggers. So glad I found you via Peter McKinnon. It's on my action list to surf a wooden board. Love the idea of more sustainable and eco-friendly surf crafts.
Thank you, & I'm so glad that it didn't feel like an 'ad' for you, this was essentially something that I am passionate about so my job was easy enough :)
Thanks Helena :) I did have Jacob Dixon being the magic man behind the camera as well as the creative director during the shoot, so he is responsible for a lot of the good stuff too!
Surprisingly...it was SO much warmer than Cape Town. I think it's just the UK outside air temperature that makes the difference but the water was glorious :)
Nicole, you have such a career ahead of you, this Vid was great. I live in Cornwall and that Water is starting to get a little Frigid this time of year, time for Winter Suit me thinks.
Thank you :) And it's summer in Cape Town which also means layering up with warm gear due to the thumping wind. Actually, the water temperature over there was glorious compared to back at home!
Definitely, I'd love to do the week-long surf shaping course with James someday. I'm not sure what the 'Ben Brown = talent' has to do with this video though? :)
Great video Nicole, I really wouldn't call it an ad It just seems like something you're passionate about and that really comes across in the video! I hope to see more of these creative sponsored videos from you, as long as you don't start trying to peddle BooTea to us 😂. I'm not in to surfing but I can really appreciate the mastery that goes into it, keep up the amazing work 🔥
Thanks Jack :) Yeah, I guess that I was super lucky that it was something that I am passionate about, so I guess it bordered onto more of a passion project! Cheers for the awesome comment.
Beautiful! I really need to check this place out, thanks a lot! I love surfing in the UK - it has something very special to it! How heavy are the boards and how buoyant are they?
Porthtowan honestly took my breath away, it was so so beautiful :) The boards are quite a bit heavier than normal foam boards obviously, I'm not sure the exact weight of the one that I rode but the buoyancy is very similar to a normal board. It's all in proportion to the weight I guess.
Thanks for the info! I love that side of the country but haven't yet been to Porthtowan yet - so defo going to check it out. Lots of great surfing spots in the UK - some of the most underrated in the world =) Check out Saunton Sands for Longboarding and Croyde for Shortboarding if you're ever in Devon (there is little Surf Museum in Braunton which is super cute as well and they serve the best Cream Tea at Sandleigh in Croyde). Also if the swell is right and there is not too much wind, Compton Bay on the Isle of Wight can be pumping and the IoW is just stunning! If you pick the right time, Bournemouth can be fun and even Brighton gets decent waves a few times a year if you're lucky =P - I presume people just can't stand the cold =P
This style of content really does suit you in a way Nicole. Didnt feel like an Ad whatsoever it felt more like a passion film project.
Thank you :) That's always a really fun aspect that I enjoy when working with brands, is the challenge of trying to not make an 'ad' seem like an 'ad'! Really appreciate the kind comment!
I dig the style of this video, those boards look so fun!!
Thanks so much Erik! Yeah, they were incredible, I wish I could have spent more time trying them out.
Wow, Nicole, blown away by this video - the quality was amazing, from the cinematography to your presenting. Killing it! I'm very much looking forward to more.

wow your like a professional host/presenter. Well done. Cheers.
Haha, little more practice but thank you :)
Someone needs to make you a presenter
Right? So authentic
Haha, except that you don't see all the takes before I got the right one! No, but I actually really enjoyed taking on more of a presenter type role :)
Eddrick I saw your insta story and had to see this. Amazing video my girl. Inspirational
Thanks Matista :) Really appreciate it! xx
