The cheese bread thing Link did was a standard snack when I was growing up. Also liked putting a sprinkle of crushed chilis and a hotdog sliced into rounds on top before microwaving.
I can already picture Link’s grandkids coming over and Link spending 20 minutes explaining why you put cheese on the bread and microwave it and another 20 minutes explaining how great and moist it is once you fold it over

5 is perfect for me, it’s got the crunch and flavor for sandwiches or toast that I’m usually looking for. 3-4 is great if your looking to taste the bread on its own best.
I'm 68 years old and I remember doing Link's soft cheese bread when I was about 6 or 7. No microwaves back then, but we did have a toaster oven. (And I choose 5 for the toast.)
man this episode is taking me back to some dark times when i used to microwave sliced bagels with kraft singles on top for about 20-30 secs until I could see the cheese start to melt over.
I'm with Link on the warm cheese bread. I make it 1-2 times a week since I was in elementary school (I'm 32 now) 👍🏻 I've got my 2 year old into it now!
Link's cheese bread just unlocked a forgotten childhood memory. I'd cook a hotdog in the microwave then put it on a slice of bread and lastly put a slice of American cheese on top to melt in the microwave for a few seconds. Weird but I recall it being delicious lol
"We Try Every Dial On The Toaster" Rhett: I don't want to try every one. Coward. Don't fear the power of the toaster. Get a toaster with twice the number of settings and try them all.
I'm brazilian and I make cheese bread (pão de queijo) every weekend haha. Those frozen ones have no cheese at all, that's why homemade are so much better. And in some places after cooked, they put fillings like cream cheese, dulce de leche, brigadeiro or pulled pork/shredded rib, It's so good!
I love how this just turned into Link obsessing over his soft cheese bread. K but I do see how it would be good. Also I feel like I’ve tried that before (because I have pretty much only ever used a microwave & toaster for cooking my whole life) but I actually want to try it to see how tastes. My husband rarely ate on Sunday evenings. But when he did, a treat for him was bread with shredded cheese, microwaved until melted. So Link aint that weird for his soft bread 🤗
I had Link's cheese bread thing in my childhood as well and I know exactly what he's talking about, it's the warm soft chewiness with the cheesy goo thats absolutely delicious

I actually fully agree with link on this one, I’ve had cheesy bread in the past and it’s super good, I just recommend using a little higher quality cheese
