Music to my ears. None of the alternatives (crafted oud, kredo, woody oud) scratched my itch for a better performing EDP, so I am excited to test this Parfum out. Oud Wood is one of my top 3 scent profiles
Did you try Thameen Carved Oud?
Woody Oud 100000x better than the original.
Have you tried Versace oud noir?
Yeah you're just mentioning the trash fakes. Kredo isn't very similar to OW, in my opinion. Try out Thameen's carved oud or oud noir intense by FDB.
Nishane Kredo is actually an extrait de parfum and not an eau de parfum

I really like Oud Wood and Oud Wood Intense. I’m looking forward to trying this parfum version but if TF puts it at their crazy $400 a 50ml bottle pricing I’m ok with passing on this.

Parfum’s don’t necessarily mean that they ‘project’ better in fact from a concentration perspective they generally sit closer to the skin however they last longer.
Projection and longevity aren’t they same thing
I love oud wood. But I only own Dua’s bois oudh because I aint spending money for the weak edp eventho it smells amazing. Dua bois oudh does the job for me. But I might save up and get the new parfum. Thanks for the review.

It's interesting: I'm not sure I'd want Oud Wood to be a beast mode type scent. I wonder if overspraying the EDP on a single spot would get you close to the Parfum? I'm sure some collectors will dig this and not care about the price tag but Oud Wood always felt like more of a boardroom/classy scent that you don't want pumping loudly for 16 hours. Maybe just me?

I’d be very curious to know what batch your sample was from. I bought a bottle last week, and, even on clothes, I can barely detect it after one hour 😅 and friends and colleagues can’t smell it either..

I think you are talking about Oud Wood EDP not Parfum
@@i-am-mj I wish, but unfortunately not: I bought the new Parfum version as soon as it was available at the Tom Ford counter where I live, exactly because I hoped it solved the issues of the edp version, which I’m quite familiar with 😔. If nothing else, the price doesn’t leave any doubt that it’s the newest parfum version that I bought 😅

although i don't recall where i saw it, i've seen the new TF "Oud Wood Perfume" as being released in 30, 50, 100, and 250ml sizes. can you confirm expected sizes, please. and thanks, troy, for another terrific vid.

How does this compare to Carved Oud?
Carved Oud is better. The TF will be like $450 for 50 ml. Just don’t even entertain it as an option

I guess you didn’t watch the video. There’s a reason why I said what I said at the end part. It’s just too rich for people’s bloods.
There’s no going back to the original version because it contained Lyral and IFRA banned it. This was likely one of the reasons the current formulation of the EDP isn’t as good as the original.
Yeah, I agree. Tbh, Carved Oud is better smelling and the EDP is good enough. This doesnt seem anywhere near like theres enough of a difference to justify a full bottle of the Parfum. Personally, I'd rather just have 2 Thameens, than one Parfum.
I hate tom Ford overpricing everything. If you love Oud wood just buy Cher Wood from Molinard. Much better quality and price
