Holy shit, Ben WAS just a random guy in the first game, he talks to you as you're making your way through the like firstish area when you're going to beat the Firebug boss.
Finally got around to playing this game. Like most Souls-like feels better playing off-line without the constant hints. Also seems a tad less buggy as on launch, but Lobos does manage to break any game he plays. :)
Surge 2 is a serious rise to form for Deck 13. It feels like this sequel is the full realization of the ideas they had for the first Surge, and is honestly a more worthy Souls-like than Sekiro.

I just finished it today, it's a great game. There are lots of "little" things that are kind of annoying, but it's still a huge improvement to the first game (which was also really fun). If they could fix the camera angle in smaller areas and some of the bugs, would really be completely on par with dark souls. Also improved weapon/armor balancing would be nice, since there seems to be VERY little benefit to using 90% of the available weapons/armor. Anything that isn't nano/electrical seems worthless and there are only a couple armor sets that have worthwhile bonuses. All of the heavy weapons are also useless as they take FOREVER to use. Literally every time I tried to use a heavy weapon, I just did exactly what lobos did at 18:30 and swapped back to a faster weapon. Spear, Staff, One Handed, and Double Duty are the only viable weapons. Which again, cuts you off from like....50+% of all the weapons in the game. The damage difference isn't even that much, so it makes little sense why they went this route. So with all things considered, there is probably like 10-15 weapons and 3 armor sets that any sane person not on a "challenge" run would use. Which is crazy when there is probably over 100 weapons and 30 armor sets.
SpencerFcp I think you’re really underselling that Fromsoft polish. This game is janky as fuck. The animations are sub-par, the camera tracks horribly and there is a distinct lack of weight behind attacks. At least it’s better than that garbage fire “Code Vein”.
I get what you mean. For me tho, the non boss enemies and areas hold quite some quality and the next bosses really fit into the environment. Eventually you will encounter one "nonfitting" boss again, but so far for me its 50/50 good/bad boss design but its not only about the bosses is it?
i really wish this game was better. buggy beyond belief it starts up about every other time. no clue how they got the combat to feel even clunkier and unresponsive. they changed too much i think . feels like an entirely dif game
lol every other time i boot the game it starts with the menus all glitched. if i tab out the games fps goes to about 20 until i restart the game. the camera gets locked in place for about 3 seconds every time i unlock it from an enemy. so far its horrrible on my end.

I love the surge but it's nowhere near as good as sekiro... It's just more "soulslike", Sekiro isn't your typical soulslike game that's it

I have to admit...I was starting to like the looks of this game right up until that spider boss fight. That just looks irritating for no good reason.

it was the hardest boss for me, but I liked the concept of the cooling tanks and I like this unusual design

you mad? i havent had any bugs and the combat feels much better than the first one. just feels so much more fluid too me.
