  • In this video we troll for Kokanee using some of my favorite tackle and rods. Wickiup is producing great fish! #fishing #outdoors #bestlure #Kokanee fishing

And 2 lakers 16 lbs and and 19 lbs.......our lakers taste awesome....they eat so much kokanee the flesh looks like Atlantic salmon

What part of the lake were you fishing. It’s good to see Wickiup it’s coming back. Good work!

We fished the deschutes arm to the confluence. Plenty of fish up into the Davis arm also.

Is your setback on the downriggers the same as the longlines? I need to make at least one more trip over there.

Yep. I have caught fish running tighter setbacks, but typically run at least 80ft of line out total. So surface rods 80-100, and if I’m dropping the riggers 40 I do a 40 ft setback. That is just my basic method. I hope you get back out here, and get into them!!

Thanks for all the great content. At what depth are these fish? It looks like you're mostly top-lining. Any clip weights on your set-up?

Thanks for watching!! The fish are mostly hitting in the top ten feet. We were running the downriggers 5-8 feet down, and just putting a couple split shots on the long lines to ensure they aren’t skipping on the surface. 👍🏻👍🏻

Holy cow that’s awesome!!! I’ve been wanting to put my 10 foot pontoon boat in there. I don’t have a trolling motor, but I have oars. Do you think if I go out the ramp wikiiup ramp or whatever it’s called by the twin Lakes and just out by the buoy and may be up the river a little bit do you think I have a good chance of catching any Kokanee to eat? Thank you so much & great video.!! I went to Sportsmans warehouse and got some of those Kokonani jigs, but I’ve never fished for them before .. Ty 🤘🐟🇺🇸

Definitely have a chance of catching some. Just slow troll some circles in there, and you have good chances!
