    Well it took me about 3 hours not rushing at all and got some new radio controls wired in to my wheel found at a junk yard, make sure the wheel u pull the controls off of matches ur current wheel exactly if u go that route ie 2 spoke or 3 spoke. I was able to get a few extra connectors and cut the clock spring harness at the junk yard and bust it apart to get the pins out, remember the key portion of the pins goes away from the clip side of the harness when u go to re install it. I would take a pair of needle nose pliers and GENTLY push/guide the pins in make sure it’s full seated in before walking away from it also. Brother your video is a life saver! Thanks so much! God bless!

    I bought the audio controls for my 2010 Honda Civic LX and soon realized that the aftermarket radio was not registering the controls. After buying a unnecessary CANBUS wiring harness, I scoured TH-cam and learned of the CLOCK SPRING and the necessary wiring. I replaced the original clock spring and added the 2 wires (disassembled an audio kit from AliExpress). The headunit learned all the new buttons. This video was very helpful.

    • @hiddenadventure

      I'm not sure the function would work for changing through songs with a double din. I guess it all depends what functionality the new head unit is progamed to take that information from the harness. I've never played around with that so I don't know. Sorry about that.

    • @ryanl8340
      @ryanl8340 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It used to be that you needed to have an adapter (I know PAC was one of the manufacturers) which converted the signal into something the head unit could understand but now I see that they're coming out with head units that accept different types of inputs and also are programmable. If it's a Sony, you probably just need a little pigtail which looks just like a 1/8" mini headphone connector. I just installed a Kenwood multi media deck into a '08 LX and am willing to give this a try. Supposedly the head unit is supposed to work without one of those adapters but I believe it had something like 6 wires out the back for steering wheel controls. Not sure if it's compatible with a 2 wire system. Will have to report back here when I dig into it a little more.

      The Civic LX Factory Radios have a Built In Amplifier that powers the speakers and give it Loud Volume. There’s nothing or better words a Amplifier to give enough power to your speakers now!

    Hoping @cabbageleafhead @kraid or others can help me troubleshoot. Swapped the steering wheel on my daughter's 2007 LX for an EX -L model with navigation. Ran 3 wires per video (ran 1 additional wire because the new steering wheel has a voice button), but not getting any response from steering wheel controls. my wires were a bit large & I'm concerned the M34S75C4F2 terminals didn't fully seat into the factory harness. maybe 1-2mm shy at most. To further complicate this, I installed new head unit (Kenwood DMX47S) & a iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module to customize steering wheel controls. Not sure where the problem is, but after hours of troubleshooting, it's past my my grade. I know this an old thread, but hoping someone here has an idea.
