Schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban, has met the Queen at Buckingham Palace and spoken to her about the importance of education. The 16-year-old was attacked in Pakistan last October over her campaign for girls to be allowed to go to school without fear. She was reduced to laughter by the Duke of Edinburgh, who quipped that in this country, people want children to go to school to get them out of the house. The teenager gave the Queen a copy of her book, I Am Malala, and told her: "It is a great honour for me to be here." Report by Lisa Snell.

She still remembers the year she went in Malala's home Swat as well as the number of times.
And i after watching it with great enthusiasm suddenly realise Prince Philip of UK just passed away. But these memories on science today made it feel like pretty alive.
Malala wasn't briefed properly before meeting HM Queen. The Queen does not get involved in politics or book signings etc.
The government deals with the everyday nuances of running the country .
Mark Gable Malala gave a book to the queen--no signature required. I hope she reads it (or has it read to her). One of the "everyday nuances" of running a country is ensuring education for all its people. At least it should be. (Malala mentioned that some of the children in England are not receiving a chance at education either.)
