FAKE Omega x Swatch vs. Real - SHOCKING REVELATIONS!!!!

- I purchased the Omega x Swatch from AliExpress as I was curious as to what I would truly get. You see, it’s never clear in the description of the item what it is you are truly getting. So I decided to buy one and find out if this watch from AliExpress compares to the original MoonSwatch from InSwatch.
In this video I found almost 10 differences between the AliExpress watch and the moon swatch.
The purpose of this video is to educate the viewer when looking for the MoonSwatch on the gray market such as eBay where these fakes could be selling or advertised as authentic.

I got three $20 repros and one genuine. 2 were exactly like the one in this video. Probably from the same factory. Wrong shades of gray for Mercury and wrong shade of green for earth. Chapter rings too big, circle through the indices and so on. Plus these cases are too big. But I got a blue Neptune that is almost perfect. Proper color, proper size case and chapter ring. The only thing they got wrong were the pushers are a little bigger. Plus things like the whole caseback coming off and the Sunon movement are wrong. In the mean time I did get a genuine Jupiter in the NYC store. Comparing it to the repro Neptune. The cosmetic differences are almost indistinguishable (the pushers). As far as feel and quality? Let's face it. A plastic quartz watch is a plastic quartz watch. I would bet money, the gears in the Swatch are plastic too. 4 jewels as opposed to none? It's a chrono. There are a half dozen other places they could put jewels. Why stop at only 4? Will they make a difference? Probably not. The other two aren't any worse in quality. They just don't look right. My only real concern was that only the gray repro had a water seal in the back. They all had o-rings in the stems and pushers. So for $260+tax what did I get? A plastic quartz watch that scratches too easily and might bleed dye on my wrist. For 20 bucks apiece, what did I get? Basically the same thing. Minus the stains in my wrist.
I don't condone fakes either. I bought these because I couldn't wait to get my hands on a real one. As it turns out. I found the real one while the fakes were still in transit from China. If I had seen and felt the real one in a store before I bought it. I probably wouldn't have bothered wasting my time with any of these. But the store experience was surreal. Like buying drugs. They initially told me they had none. Then when there was no one else in the store, she quietly mentioned they had a Pluto and a Jupiter in the back. I asked to see them because I wasn't really sure of the colors. She showed me the brochure. I picked Jupiter. While I paid, she went in the back and brought out a tape sealed gift bag and said, don't open it til I got some place private, away from the store. I didn't actually open the box til I got home. It was anti-climatic. A plastic watch in a cardboard box. A cheap cardboard box at that. For less than a hundred bucks more, I could've gotten the SteelDive homage of the PloProf with a shark mesh bracelet and a nice plastic storage case with foam padding.
Still a better value for the money then the real one 😂🤣

The replica I ended up receiving was not plastic so I can't remove the bezel. I have to admit, I wish I did receive this version. Could do a lot of customising to it.

I am sorry but i prefer the cheap and fake one than the ORIGINAL MOONSWATCH because i can open the watch to repair or to change the movement when or if it fails BUT that you cant do it on a MOONSWATCH WATCH or on any SWATCH because they are sealed so you only can change the battery and i have the Mission To the Moon (fake of course only for less than 25 U$S ) but i get it only because i cant pay and i dont pay 260U$S for a watch sealed like the SWATCH MOONSWATCH.
I would not mind fake for 20 EUR either - the problem is i got fake for 245 eur from ebay
The newer reps are virtually 1-1 now and the movement is actually better than the gen its using a mecha quartz movement
The part of 1/10 works only usefull in the real one BUT here you have a 24 hrs day and night dial so you can use it to adjust your watch and when you are in the middle the number 5 (i mean an invisible 5 lol ) just down the 10 that is 12 hs in the day and when you are in 10 that is 24:00 or 00:00 at midnight.
How can you have a fake of a fake? The fake is probably better since the original was a toy.

Good tips, with all the things you compare, it seems to me that the fake is better thought out than the original (I'm not talking about the quality). If they put the correct indicator of the 24-hour function on the 2 o'clock dial on the fake one, it would be even better than the original. If the movement breaks, you simply exchange it for less than $5 and in the original if the movement breaks you have to drop it in the trash. They both look like children's toys.
Serious question. How much did you pay for the fake? On Aliexpress you can go from $25 to $90. Is there even a difference in the watch you get for the price you pay? I'm thinking about getting a fake until I can get my hand on a real one. An authentic moonswatch will be hard for me to get for a while as I don't have any dealers remotely close to me. I'm hoping they open it up to online purchase. $200 for one isn't that unreasonable.

Thanks for helping me figure out that one the watch I bought on Mercari was a fake, the subdial at the 2:00 mark tracked with the hour hand (like a 24 hr tracker).

My wife purchased one for me off vinted the earth version and it's fake, I noticed the second hand motion wasn't one tick for seconds it seemed to do a double movement per second, great video

Because the original is a 250$ low quality plastic watch...
My fake came with the battery cover completely fallen off and rattling around in the case. Evidently it lots it's rubber gasket to keep it water resistant. Needless to say, the cover doesn't stay on. I wonder if anyone has any idea where to get an actual Swatch battery cover or at least the rubber gasket? I only paid $59 for my fake so I guess ya get what ya paid for! One of those, "too good to be true" deals...

Well that’s where you’re wrong. Flogging the donkey would have been spending the entire video talking about just that issue and that would be as lame as your comment. I pointed out multiple inconsistencies since there are many scumbag companies producing different variants.

No, not at all. I am a stickler for accuracy and get annoyed by imprescion. Simply stating that the watch provided a generalised list of what to look out for IMO would have been the way to go.

Removable Interchangeable bezel? Ingenious! I want it even more! Sunon PE50 movement. 371 battery (very common). Crown fitment...I could trim the stem down so the crown sits flush if the case allows. Thanks for the video. I find the fakes more interesting than the real one. So many various versions of differing quality. I saw another on TH-cam that had printed subdial hands so it wasn't even a real chronograph...it was a fake chronograph of a fake watch. It's like a Cracker Jack prize...don't know what you will get until it arrives...that is IF it arrives! So much fun though. I'm more intrigued by the fakes than the real watch. Not sure it that's good or bad for Swatch.
The biggest giveaway to the fake is the sweep of the chronograph hand. Real Swatch has a “ticking” chronograph, fake has a smoother drive.
I was going to mention it but was looking for more objective reasons for people to see. You’re spot on though.

There are much better clones of the Moonswatch which, ironically, contain less chinese parts than the original does. Also have proper mineral glass, better case that wont crack or leach colours, and a japanese Miyota movement that can be repaired, unlike the original movement.

The small dial on the right on fake is 24 hr indicator, on real -chronograph hand. Good way to spot fake from pictures. On real it should be pointing upwards to 10. Anotjer quite good tell- SWATCH font on back. On real letters are tightly packed and more elongated than on fakes.

Can the Crystal be swapped out for something better is the Crystal a standard size? Just don't understand for the life of me if Omega was going to put their name on it, they didn't demand a better Crystal especially at $250 for a $40 Watch?

First of all: great video man, we all have to admit that the quality of the replicas are bad, REALLY bad... general speaking, but hey, when you think about it, with this replica you can replace the glass if you like, and, more importantly, you can open it to service it or replace the entire movement. Even the strap is not that bad, I am in deed considering the option to buy one just to savage the strap to replace my old one! So yes, this is cheap rubbish made in China while the MoonSwatch is expensive rubbish made in Switzerland... still wondering who is being ripped off.

Seems like You got the class B fake Chinese moonswatch, there's a better class A one better than the original in some features & definitely a lot cheaper

I bought such a fake along with delivery, it cost me $ 30, since it was an expensive version, the cheap one costs 14 I got almost one to one but not from plastic, but the case is made of metal. The only difference is that the upper right dial is marked as a chronograph but it shows the time in 24 hour mode. I wrote this on Wish and they returned the money to me, left the watch. I saw reviews in which there is a real Seiko chronograph VT 50 IMHO inside, which allows you to do 5 splits, which is actually much better than the original chronograph
in fact, this is a big fall for Swatch, because today the Chinese can make watches of much better quality for $10 than Swatch sells for $260. At the same time, one had to stand in line and give one to hand. therefore, today we just need to reconsider our position on Swiss marks. buy a Seiko 5 on sale that will work for a lifetime, even without a single visit to the watchmaker, really for $50. I once even saw a very provincial Wal-Mart for $30, so giving a prim Swiss $260 is at least very, very stupid
