Despite what you might have heard, there is no perfect formula for calculating your rates as a creator - there are so many factors involved that aren’t just the size of your audience. The niche you’re in, the size of the brands that you’re partnering with, the deliverables you’re offering - and many other factors will help determine what you can reasonably charge (aka what brands will agree to) So I'm going to break down my process for figuring out pricing for brand deals (and more!) I'll also cover how to price your membership and your digital products as a content creator.

Thanks Katie! I think one thing that is almost as important as the actual number is… HOW you pitch that number! I think creatives have a tendency to feel uncomfortable asking for money and that REALLY comes across in the pitch! Be clear, concise and direct - “my rate is x for y deliverables.” If you leave room to be paid less, you will be paid less 😉 good luck everyone!

Great! I just had my first sponsored video and I reached out to another creator with a similar audience to me to ask how much they charged. It was super helpful and I ended up having a negotiation, so clearly I priced it correctly!

You are right about feeling resentful for charging too little. I’m at 40k subs and charge $200 for a 5-10 min video. I wanna charge more but for some reason don’t have the guts 😩😬

Do you do set amounts no matter the brand? Cause sometimes I work with huge brands and other time it's smaller brands and both do not have the same budget. How do you go about this?

How do you find brand deals? I would like to know more about this?
I needed something like this, still haven't managed to land a paid sponsor yet, only been receiving products for free in exchange for a post. Everytime I attempt to give a rate to a company, they completely blank me rather than try negotiate a price so not even sure if I should be aiming for a lower amount or more.
That's a tough one! Maybe try a lower price next time, and then the time after that experiment with a higher one? It's really hard to know until you just try it out and see the result 🙏🏻

Hi Katie, I found this video very helpful. I am a content creator and as of now I am only making affiliate commission. I receive free product to use in my videos and use affiliate links. In my most recent deal I did negotiate the commission rate but never even thought to charge per video because she is letting me choose whatever product I am wanting. I am relatively new to this world so curious if that was the right way to go? Id love for your input. THANKS!
I'm wondering if brand deals are for a month or per video? So if I have 2500 subs and get a brand deal for $200, is that per month (as in 4 videos) or per video (potentially allowing me to earn $800 in a month).
