Love the options we have. In my opinion I dig your channel a bit more than the “top” channels like phxresale, crtp, etc… enough energy to keep my attention but not over the top. Sometimes Riff’s raw energy is a bit much. The vibes and balance of the home grown grass root energy is what I like. Keep it up, don’t lose the love of the hunt to the love of profit
The optical drive not reading discs on the GameCube is a common issue with age. It’s due to the capacitors that power the optical drive. There is a potentiometer you can re calibrate that can fix the issue. There’s lots of tutorials on TH-cam that go over it. Good luck!
Now if only someone could fix the Panasonic Cube’s awful optical drive 😂
Can vouch for this fix. I did this with a "for parts" GameCube and it works perfectly!
I've also done this repair it's a pretty simple fix.
Ah, the GameCube. One of the only consoles you can dash against the wall and keep the capacitors.
yes! i did this to my og gamecube. It was struggling reading discs that were brand new! And now it boots up like a charm no issues.
Sell the game guides more games is the way
This is one of the best collection series on TH-cam! I’m glad to see PlayStation getting some love here. I would sell off most of the game guides and keep the ones that you want to pair with games in the $10,000 game collection. Looking forward to the next episode!

Fishing rod with a little worm on the hook. 🪝 When I got em out, the goldfish themselves tasted a tad stale. Overall disappointed in the flavor and texture.

Clean the laser with a cotton swap and some rubbing alcohol if that doesn’t work then the lazer is shot

Haha, very true and good point. Though the value isn't much on them unfortunately, maybe $50 total for all of the guides together. I decided to stand up them up behind some of the games as a sort of makeshift backdrop. Money-wise we're still glowing with cash. Next Saturday tune in, as an unusual trade takes place that may shock you!

The GameCube the laser just needs to be adjusted plenty vids on YT. But for paper Mario I use the cover project and create a repo art, some where on the art insert a text that is “this a repro art” print on glossy paper and it’ll look good for displaying and upgrade when you can. Keep up the great work!

GameCube Laser needs to be tweaked or replaced.. also the caps can go bad on the DVD drive board that may need replacing.

ive had an OLED Switch with Box with Games on Facebook Marketplace for a retro colllection for over 1yr now with no offers worth the value of the Switch itself.
Make sure your casting multiple hooks out there. Marketplace, multiple posts of similar but different photos/descriptions/titles, Craigslist, OfferUP etc.
Kody is hardcore, meeting people in the middle of the night hehe.

For that gamecube i believe you just need to adjust a small screw by the motherboard. Its the sensor to make it spin.

I got a question for you Kody, what do you use to clean screens on consoles?
I use disinfectant wipes to add moisture slightly, and rid the grime, then immediately dry off the screen with a microfiber cloth.
That is just incredible. There’s no way I could get a trade that good near me

Hunting and collecting Video games and consoles was sooo volatile I basically gave up on it. I just gave my games away. The most hateful and sketchy hobby out there.
Another work week has come and gone and another video from Kody with a K has dropped. Life is good. Nice find for the Switch Oled trade. When it comes to the Guides, I think you should keep ones for a game or two you have great memories of or love for, and sell the rest, nice to have some extra ways to get some funds added. I had so much fun playing Drakengard as a kid, have gotten it back into my collection since then, and have picked up the 2nd one as well. Just need to get my hands on the 3rd one now to complete the series. Those GC games those were BANGERS (as were most of the games in this lot). 1/10 of the way there Kody, awesome work, looking forward to being there for every step of this journey in phase 2 of the 10k game collection. @@k0dyw1thaK I have an box for it if you're interested. The plastic handle broke unfortunately and it's missing the instructions. It does have the cardboard inserts that hold the system and some plastic baggies so it's not a fully complete box but it's a legit 60 gig PS3 box.

It’s usually the optical Drive that’s the issue. Sometimes you can recalibrate it with the POT that’s on the motherboard, but I usually end up changing the capacitors on it.

Keep the guides. Could display them with the game on the shelves until they fill up more. Plus at the end of the season when you sell the games you get more with a guide combo with it.

That Dragon Quest VIII guide is worth about double the regular market value if it has the insert in the middle of it. I learned that by chance when I bought one from a used video game store last year. The guys behind the counter were surprised to learn they even had one in their stack of books. 😂

Did the ps3 work?
It has disc drive issue but I am currently attempting to fix it. The GameCube didn't work but I believe the laser is the culprit
