You thought Adventure Time was over. I thought Adventure Time was over. Well, Adventure Time still had one more trick up its sleeve…well, four if you’re counting episodes. Yes, Distant Lands gives us another glimpse into the life and Adventure times of Finn and Jake. So, it’s only fair that we update the timeline with the new info! While Distant Lands largely acts as a sequel to the main story of Adventure time, it offers a few new details about the past, as well. Here we go, it’s time for the even more complete Chronology of Adventure Time.

I like how the show started as a strange, weird and fun show but over time it slowly stopped being that and instead became much more darker and such.
Completely agree. I often here the take something along the lines of "Adventure changed for the worse and I prefer how it was" and if you prefer the older seasons, more power to ya but I feel as if that take misses the whole point of why it changed.
Yeah the show definitely grew along with its audience. By the last few seasons we weren't kids anymore, and even Finn grew up from 12 years old to 17 by the end. Making the character grow older along with the audience is something most shows don't do, and it's refreshing. I think Adventure Time having a proper storyline and continuity after about season 4 was what made the show so great.

The fact that the reason why the Ice King captures princesses is because of Betty
As much as I loved the finale, the Distant Lands episodes felt like an even bigger finale for the series. especially after seeing Fin and Jake reincarnate together to show that their lives are over, but the adventure will continue forever
The ending of adventure was rushed which is why the finale kinda felt a little off, I think the creators knew that so they created distant lands to really finish the series
@@Peikkey The ending wasn’t rushed. A lot of people involved are on record saying they were given a good while to come up with a final season and that the team themselves were the ones who ultimately decided to end the show to begin with, as they felt they were outlasting their target demographic and wanted to give them a satisfying end rather than just age out of the show
I cried when Jake and Finn got reincarnated together. They may be gone but adventures will never end.
Same dude, I cried because they were gone and got really sad, but, everything good has an end :,)
And they will always be legends and never forgotten
but also makes me happy how it seems they will always re-incarnate together. Also we have the upcoming Finoia and Cake show to look forward to

9:33 While never stated, my headcanon is that someone found a piece of the Lich's comet and put it in the bomb, which explains why the detonation releases the Lich.
that 2nd part is on the wiki since it would explain why the that bomb seemed so much more destructive they any others
magic was scarce, but not non existent before the Mushroom War. The liches essence was used in the Mushroom Bomb

This is the best cartoon CN has done in a while. Who knew when we followed Finn and Jake, we were also following their adventures and became adventures of ourselves. Definitely worth the binge watch in the future.

obsidian is a split timeline episode, first part is way before, second is way after

Update: Finn has basically been confirmed to have gotten the tattoo while Jake is still alive
I love how deep the lore is, just for LSP’s sass to be what saves the day
I've watched this show since I was little and honestly It's the best show I've ever watched. It's given me great memories and ngl the reincarnation scene made me shed a tear.

I find the fact that, not only is there such a grand amount of storytelling and world building, not only does the whole story end the way it began (the seeming destruction of one era and the start of another through war (probably)), but the fact it has so much depth in character and such an expansive set of ideas is amazing. Sure there's a lot of comedy but it can take itself seriously and is one of those great hits that will never be fully replicated in its uniqueness. Man was it a surprisingly great ride.
Man the lore of this show always makes me so sad. It’s just a never ending battle of good and evil. Simon and magic man’s stories are so sad too. Such a good show
10:47 my theory on how Farmworld Finn exists is that cuz unlike regular Finn who is always trying to put others interests above himself, Farmworld Finn only cared about protecting his own family (before he got the crown).
The way I see it, Farmworld Finn wasn’t even made by the comet, he’s just

(Take all of this with a grain of salt but I think it makes sense)
In every universe a soul is destined to be Finn Mertens. In Farmworld, the catalyst comet didn't hit the earth so that Finn didn't get the heroic reincarnation. That's the way I see it at least, I think we have the same idea.

Farmworld Finn definitely cares about others. He only put on the crown to try to save the town from destiny gang, and once he puts on the crown he freezes everyone in a misguided and crazed attempt to ‘protect’ them.
As I kid this show felt like a fever dream leading nowhere. But now... Its got so much depth
i loved the "come along with me" finale but i think together again episode is the real best finale of this show

The first part of this is word for word the same one Jake did a few years back. Lol love they kept the scripts this long
or they just used the first video, still on their account until they put this one up, and re-recorded the lines, i doubt they kept a script for a video for years.. :p (& i’m not sure if they even took down the original video or if its was just left up and this update was just uploaded later.. u kno what im tryna say 😅)

in the BMO special, it gets shown that the giant crater in the Earth was caused by an electrical detonation of some kind inbetween the two mushroom bomb detonations
you know Adventure Time is the ONLY cartoon that I know that repeatedly makes grown adults of all background cry like little boys and girls. It has that magic that just hits all those soft spots and makes you think about all the little ones in the past, present, and future. No matter how dark, how grim, how terrible we're turning the world into, the adventure will never end. The young ones will always find a way to carry on.
I really hope they make a new show continuing the story with the reincarnated Finn & Jake. I’m so curious to see how much of the world has changed and see the backstory to how it all happened. The only thing that I’d hesitate about wishing for it is that they won’t have the passion to make it as good as the original and the feeling of it being different making the new show not as loved.

My 11 year old and I started watching this show together on Hulu starting on Summer break. I felt like she was ready to submerse herself in the weirdness that is Adventure Time and I am so glad we did, because there is method to the madness of this show and it does go somewhere that makes sense! Now it is her favorite cartoon to watch.😊❤️

I have a VERY GOOD QUESTION: When Finn met prismo, he wished the lich never existed. and that wish created A alternate reality called farmworld. But if finn's wish was for the lich to never exist, WHY did a lich end up existing anyway in farmworld?!
The lich was created from the mushroom bomb exploding and in the farm world reality finn ends up detonating the mushroom bomb so the lich is created again

2 days ago I watched the timeline without distant lands and I was watching the adventure time series I reached distant lands and was shocked when you uploaded the updated timeline. Amazing channel and content overall adventure time is one of the best cartoons ever ❤❤

It's interesting that both times we see the comet, it's the Ice Elemental that refuses to accept the situation and tries to avoid it at all costs.

Makes you wonder if they found the green catalyst comet's impact zone and dug it up, and then decided to use the energy in it as a weapon

I understand there's remnants of humanity that have English words (buildings, cars, the comic shop, etc) but wasn't there also Asian languages written on things throughout Ooo? And PB speaking German.
Of course those things aren't mutually exclusive, items with / other languages could still have been from North America.
The only thing I can really think of is that the subway tunnel looks very New York-ish but that could just be their easiest way to make the subway look like a subway lol

Honestly i think that The Legend of Zelda's Spirit of the Hero argument works with Finn.
The blue Catalyst Comet doesn't really 'reincarnate', it is a free will that attaches itself to whoever is the bravest hero of that time.
I think golb was before the monsters because he is ABSOLUTELY more powerful than them and with enough living beings around can create them by BREATHING

My mom made me stop watching Adventure Time because she didn’t like all the adult stuff in it. I was like 10 or something. Anyway, I was getting in the shower one time and I had my parents tv on and Adventure Time was on and I only caught a glimpse of it but it was Finn in a yellow area jumping across platforms and he had a metal arm. I was like cool. Then I got in the shower. And then after I graduated high school, we got HBO MAX and Adventure Time was one of the first things I watched and it was awesome. Then I did Distant Lands and I have a theory that Finn and Jake reincarnated as Shermy and Beth at the end of the episode cause we didn’t see what they turn into but they go back to Earth together

Dogs don't live that long sadly and we saw Jake age rapidly over the course of the series.
