I purchased a few used decks from someone in my local community, and when I showed up to pay her for the items she actually threw the Old English Tarot in for free. She told me that she had worked with it for awhile but she wasn't being called to work with tarot or oracle cards anymore in her life. So, had she not gifted it to me, I don't think I would have ever ended up with it as it doesn't strike me as something I would choose for myself. However, after sitting with the images I discovered that it really is a beautiful/powerful deck. I am grateful this one has made it's way into my collection. It's interesting isn't it, the way that decks make their way to us sometimes? ❤️ Thanks for sharing the details of this deck with us, Simon. Much love! ❤️-Ang
I was surprised that you didn't already have this in your collection eons ago. But, I really enjoyed watching your commentary with the close-up images and seeing the deck again thru fresh eyes. Your voice along with the images and lovely traditional music was very comforting.
This is very nice; reminds me of The Rose Tarot with the combination of Marseilles style pips and RWS type illustrations. Thanks so much for the walkthrough, Simon!
A magnificent deck that I have been using for a long time especially around lughnasad. It's historical designs makes me feel happy to be part of this earth. Thanks for sharing, Simon
I have seen this deck before but haven't looked at it as closely as this before. I love how the suits tell the story at the bottom of each card. Beautiful countryside deck. Thank you for sharing Simon 🙏🏽💖
This is a nice deck, my favourite cards would be The Wheel, The Devil and The Moon. Although I have seen this deck around I had never seen all of the cards, thank you for showing them my friend 😍❤️
Hi, Simon! I’m so glad that US Games still continues to publish old, classic decks. I just recently bought the Renaissance Tarot by Brian Williams, which is also a US Games deck first published in ‘87. It’s similar to this one where the Minor Arcana are pip-ish w some minimal illustrations of Greek deities. Do you have that one? Love the card back design of this deck! Thank you so much for sharing. 🤍
I have loved my Old English Tarot for years. It reads very well. All of those little pip hint illustrations are wonderful. I bought a 2006 back up edition last year and I was disappointed that the colors were faded and not nearly as nice as my 1997 edition. But your newer 2006 deck has vibrant coloration just like the first edition. How did that happen? LOL Lucky hermit. I'm so glad. The colors are much nicer and richer. Also, I trimmed off the white border and like it very much without the white, white and copyright. I did try to trim and edge another copy but it didn't come out well cause the edges are not absolutely even and i'm a lousy edger. Thanks, Simon, for highlighting this often overlooked deck. Anne
The word I was searching for was ‘plough’ 😝

Yes it really is Ang. Had I not seen it there on the shelf in my local shop, it probably wouldn’t have made its way into my collection. 🙏🏻❤️
I found this one many years ago in a $2 bag of random flotsam in a thrift store. Such a lovely deck, I treasure it!
Oooh what a lucky find

Thank you Robin. Do you have this one!
@@the_hermits_cave Yes, I'd had it for awhile when I did my walkthrough in July 2019. It's a charming deck. th-cam.com/video/qMEj9YdCm4U/w-d-xo.html

It’s adorable. I can’t believe it took me so long to discover it 😍
i got it 6 months ago, cute deck has a light-easy energy maybe gets things move smoother between the reader and the questioner, info comes gently....
I can’t believe it took me so long
I knew of this deck but had never seen a walkthrough. the art is quite lovely, thanks Simon xx
You’re welcome lovely 😊
There seem to be so many references to the RWS in the little illustrations of the pips. You are right tho, a book would be wonderful. Very beautiful.
That was my very first deck almost 20 years ago. I was wondering why you didn‘t have it in your collection. And here we are ❤️.
A time for everything 😉
It’s a sweet deck. I need to pull mine out again.
It really is, the question is…why haven’t I bought this before now?
What gorgeous deck!!!! really nice... love the colors, simplicity and crispness of them all.. :)
The colours are wonderful aren’t they.

This was very relaxing to watch. I wish that Justice was at 8 for this deck, I would buy it otherwise.
Thank you for sharing.
I get that, although once shuffled, justice is justice and strength is strength for me 😝
Thanks for watching my friend ❤️
I do like a Medieval Wheel of Fortune... spin and be damned forever in a Dante-esque hell! aka Eastbourne on a Saturday evening
Lol 😝

Oh how strange! I wonder if you got a poor print quality version?
@@the_hermits_cave I guess so. Glad it was a fluke as proved by your deck.
Thank you so much
Thank yoouuu 💜
I love this deck! And for once I already have it so #SimonDidntMakeMeDoIt 😂
