You are already using tax payers to pay for homeless programs, emergency and medical services to respond to drug overdoses, drugs, needles and testing for addicts, police to monitor drug communities. Most of the homeless now calling Belleville their home originally came from places like Toronto and Kingston...........many of those should be in a Mental Hospitals and not sleeping under the bridges along the Waterfront Trail. The United Church at the corner of Church & Bridge is an eyesore now, all because of the homeless crowd gathered outside for much of the day.

There was an action back in the 80s/90s when Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom all went on a blitz shutting down inpatient psychiatric facilities and institutions and tossed the inmates to the streets but for the very worst ones - AGENDAS!!
This city has been struggling for years with overdoses and drugs I’ve been here many years and went through this my self and I absolutely knew that it was going to get much worse after covid it’s very sad seeing this it’s time for some supports set up thousands of addicts here and many many homeless most which go unknown if every singe homeless person and addict was counted the list would be much higher
I lived here when I was in grade 8 and grade 9..I use to walk past this church downtown. Belleville always had a problem, but this is different. Sadly all the kids I lived with there were poor and most did drugs. Sad to think some might end up going down this path
