Toby, we lost our son Andrew to suicide in December of 2020. The heartache almost crushed us, but God was our cornerstone and our anchor, the only thing that kept us from being lost in that storm. Your album has meant so much to me as we have journeyed through our grief. So many parallel feelings and truths. I too thought I would never sing a joyful song again, but when I sing along with you that God is still the goodness in my life, there is a deep peace and joy in that truth. God bless you Toby for sharing your heart through this journey.

Toby Mac and the loss of his son 😢are the same what I’m living thru today , I lost my son to Meth and Fentanyl, the worse pain in life. Only God can give us the strength to go on . My kids were raised on Toby's music. We listened to Truett grow up on the mic. I lost my 28y old son 6 months ago. Toby's music and interviews are helping. God has held my hand and my heart during this time.

Lauree I loved this interview. I relate to Toby because I lost my husband, one of my two daughters and a dear aunt in 18 months. Let me share how God works. Amy had a baby girl on her birthday and now we celebrated her daughter's birthday on 12-16-22 and are not sad and grieving. Love you, Lauree. Rosemary

I’m drawing so much extra strength from Toby. Almost all of my struggles have been due to a very challenging health issue. It was easy to trust in the Lord when it was my personal struggle and definitely easy to give Him the praise.
But it was a whole different story when I lost two sisters two months apart. Bobbie 65, (massive heart attack), Cheryl, 54 (suicide = medical depression).
I never got bitter or angry with God but it was hard to talk to people. I did have the great pleasure of walking to the alter with Bobbie when she gave herself to the Lord. It gives me beautiful peace. I only think and hope Cheryl was saved.
Toby made me realize that I have two sisters lives to talk about as an opportunity to talk about Christ. The dynamics of saved and unsaved make a difference with eternal life, as well as peace and healing for the loved ones left behind. That should be an easy open door to get peoples attention. We all have someone we loved and lost. It’s common ground. I’m not going to miss the opportunity to lead people to the Lord.
I’ll be honest, I’m shaken over Toby’s pain. No parent should ever bury their child. Toby’s strong testimony is reaching saved and unsaved people.
Thank you Toby for ALL THOSE Beautiful SONGS WITH LYRICS THAT HIT THE SOUL IN TOTAL TRANSPARENCY OF HOW WE CAN GET PAST THE HARD TIMES AND SADNESS OF LOSS ES WHETHER WE LOSE OUR Children IN DEATH OR JUST Dealing WITH BEING HATED FOR WHATEVER REASON BUT IT'S STILL A LOSS THAT FEELS LIKE DEATH!!! SO DEEP WITH A BROKEN HEART IT FEELS IT CAN'T BE HEALED BUT WITH JESUS ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE AND I PRAISE HIM AND WORSHIP HIM AS I WANT TO KEEP GETTING CLOSER TO CHRIST BECAUSE HE LOVES ME AND HE CAN FORGIVE US SO I HUMBLE!!
I got tickets for the Greensboro NC show for my birthday this year because I wanted to see Crowder. I really did not know who Toby was. Today on the one year anniversary of burying my beloved son I seen one of his videos on my feed. Today was a hard day. My son too died of a fentanyl overdose. I’m so eager now for the healing I think God has in-store for me at this upcoming show. ❤

I got to see TobyMac in North Little Rock Arkansas Feb 9th. I've had the new cd Life after Death!! All I can say if you haven't listened to the whole cd You are most definitely missing out!! What a concert an cd! TobyMac is Awesome!! And all that was in the concert with him It was GREAT! God Bless TobyMac! But my husband lost his son Aug 17th 2019 he was 29 years old. My husband knows how Toby feels. Not supposed to bury your kids! Much Love to KLOVE!! In fact I'm listening to Life after Death right now! Wake us up! Wake us up! Wake us up Lord!

My heart breaks for Toby and his family and is also sobered somewhat at the same time. Following Toby's journey in music from early on, this certainly resonates with me and it is certainly our choice to choose to overcome and rebuild with Jesus or not. It's an absolute process but it needs to be our only choice amidst the pain. We have to choose the Truth that remains being Jesus, rebuild and see through our breakthrough. (John 14:6) Blessings to the family. God's got you. God's got us all. Thank you for sharing Toby; the trials and the testimonies.

I love the Album because there’s no skip On this one. I like the fact that he does features with almost everyone. The song 21 hits me hard because my son is 22 now but when this song hit my son was 21 and he lost a lot of his friends that was the same age and my hearts for all of them and even for Truett because they are babies. The part of the song where he said did he see you from along way off run into him with the father’s heart did you wrap him up inside your arms and let him know that he’s home it brings tears to my eyes. Because when you lose a love one that’s what you wonder if they are okay or they happy.

I am sorry for your family's loss. I haven't lost a child, but I lost my husband in 2012 due to overdose and unless you actually experience a traumatic loss well you have no clue how it feels or how you will react to it! It is so true that God is so faithful throughout every trauma, failure, circumstance even our victories..EVERY VICTORY is God's! Love all of your music and I Love YOU❤❤

So enjoyed this interview. The interviewer was so down-to-earth, kind and sincere and she and Toby just clicked. Obvious Jesus connection which is so comfortable and such an inspiration. I’m 68 years young, my adult children grew up listening to DC Talk and they knew who Toby Mac was when I told them their dad and I are going to see Toby, Mercy Me and Zach Williams on 11/02. I was pleasantly surprised that they remembered him from their youth. I was mostly listening to Keith Green when they were growing up. Funny how life comes full-circle….and our King is FOREVER. Thank you Jesus. 🕊️

How are you doing today?
I had to take an opioid for two weeks to get through five kidney stones. I was petrified that I’d become an addict. I did go through withdrawal which was horrific. Then I studied what causes repeat addictive tendencies. Once the brain is addicted to an opioid, it cannot produce serotonin. If your son is Willi to walk (fast enough til it’s hard to talk) a little bit each day and add on, his brain will get serotonin build up. That’s God’s happy drug. Research that. It may be helpful.
All I can say is I saw Tobymac in Tucson,Az and it was fire..i sat close enough to see the fire in his eyes by the way....can't wait to see him again!
Thank you Tobymac for your amazing songs! My daughter loved listening to you & we saw you in Tampa a long time ago & then went with me 1 year to Winter Jam when you were there. We lost her Sept 2023 from a fentanyl overdose. She was 33 years old. Listening to you had helped my husband & I thru this sad journey. We know God has & will be with us.

Toby feel your pain. I have not lost my son. But in a way l have lost my son to drinking, drugs he has been baptized, he is alive yet he has sliced back to the temptation of the dark,his father is gone and he blames me. I .needing a lot of prayers that he goes to rehab he is a father. I pray a lot for him. You can feel the darkness in him.😢😢😢. I am a mother of Christ. I need prayers for him to be the good son.
