- Hi pals! This week I'm back with another studio vlog about my brand new self-printed cryptid bag collection that I made by blocking printing on fabric and then fussy cutting + piecing scraps together!
AND - I got to chat with Johnny Cupcakes, who's been a business idol of mine for literal decades now. So wild!

Once again you are making me feel like we are the same person 😂 that deep teal/emerald color is also my favorite color too. However, you would have definitely cringed at me back in the day - I have always worn band shirts at the concerts for the bands I would see. Even sometimes putting on the shirts I would buy at the concert lmao. Oh! And with Ghostbusters - have you seen the first reboot that came out a few years ago with Paul Rudd? It's so good! I'm guessing that's your crush? Hehe
Also, I agree with everyone else. Your table setup looks so good with the new signage. And did I also peep my pins in the beginning? 👀👀 And I don't know if you have mentioned them before, but I LOVE those dog and crossbones earrings omg. I need a pair.

And I really dislike how much I cared about people doing that, and what a buckwild thing to have as a pet peeve. I for sure didn't need to be eye-rolling at band shirts, especially because I'd wear DIY versions I made myself (usually to have the band sign) but like....why was that okay to me but not the ones that financially supported the band I was seeing? lol
You sure did see your pins! I ran up to my artist friends there and was like "WAIT FOR IT" and moved the cow XD
okay also thank you for saying that about the dog skull and crossbones, 'cause I feel like nobody actually likes them (I've never sold a pair) but I'm so proud of that design!

To add another comment to your algorithm, it does irk me a little when vendors talk about just covering their event fees for the day. Even if I only cover my entry fee, gas, parking, etc then that means I am literally giving away everything for free. Even if I make just a little more, and say cover the materials of said gifts, then that means I still did all that work for free. That isn't so bad if you're a hobbyist but I need to pay my mortgage. I find most everyone does this and it is a pet peeve.
If I only did pop ups, I don't think I could sustain this line of work for very long with how this year is going. I made one (1) $6 sale yesterday. It was a last minute market so I didn't have a table fee, but parking was $4 (cheaper than usual) and 30 mins of gas each way. At least the item I essentially gave away was a mystery bag which I've already called a loss on the items inside 🥴
I'm trying to be more discerning about what events I do, but it's so hard to say no when offered the ~opportunity~ 🫠
Any ideas what you could envision a new logo including?
