In my opinion, when a singer belts a high note the emotion has a tendency to disappear. However, this performance was so emotional in that even if she hit those notes and take them to another level, you could feel what she was going through: fear, hopelessness, weakness, sadness and all was powerful.

After ng performance, nagpost sya sa fb na para daw po sa ate nya yung video. Those emotions were geniune. I think she wanted the to deliver the message of the song to her sister who passed away few days ago.

Imagine you had a sister who just died and still you have to deliver a song because you must have to. I have utmost respect to Katrina. Emotions aside, I think Kat should really work on her low notes. If you hear it her low notes are not as flawless as her high ones. Technical wise, Kat won this battle two blocks higher than her opponent. (and that's still not her best of best performances)

Laarni is truly an incredible vocalist and singer! She has incredible refinement, technique and vocal dynamics. It’s not all about power as a singer. You have to sing soft and do crescendos to decrescendos. She’s just phenomenal to listen to. She is truly a vocal powerhouse

I have been watching this video of them multiple times and I always get goosies everytime I hear Katrina, the emotion and the quality of her voice is way better than Laarni’s. Laarni just want to belt and just shout. But Katrina is singing from the heart. The reason she has so much emotion is because her sister passed away day or days before that performance, I think that helped her pulled out the emotion as well. Katrina should win this. As far as i remembered, I don't think Morissette really cared for how many octaves she had. I think she just wanted to experiment with her voice and play around, sing different notes and sound great. That's why she has got some of the best vocally-layered songs out there. But for Katrina? Stop dreaming dear, no matter how she had that "impecable highnotes" , if she doesn't know about her music, then people who are listening to her songs don't appreciate her vocally and technically. Morissette can produce an emotive sound even when she belts in a higher register. The bottom line here is that your idol Katrina cannot produce great musicality and sounded like a typical singer that sings in an amateur singing contest.
