The keys between the fingers thing in the railroad story, don't do that you won't cause any significant damage and you're likely to break your hand. Instead, have your key between your thumb and first finger with your hand in a fist, and go for the eyes.

Omg the mountain man story reminded me of something that happened to me (nowhere near as scary as that, thank god). When i was about 19, I worked as a cashier at a supermarket, and from just after i started, there was this man who came in a few times a week, always in the morning. He was about the same age as my dad at the time, 40s or 50s, and really unsettling. He would talk to me for ages and ask me personal (sometimes inappropriate) questions about myself, and just gave me creepy vibes. This behaviour increased, similar to the story, to him openly flirting with me and saying we should 'hang out'. One day he brought me a bunch of flowers, which i politely declined. He looked me right in the eyes and insisted i take them, in such a serious tone that it totally freaked me out. From then onwards, i would watch for him coming into the building and ask my manager if i could hide out the back until he was gone. She let me do this but told me i should talk to security if he was making me so uncomfortable. I was a bit hesitant to do so, thinking maybe i was overreacting, as i am quite shy and thought maybe he was just being friendly and i was making something out of nothing. Imagine my fucking surprise when i pointed him out to the head of security on the CCTV footage one day (head of security worked afternoons, so was never there when he came in) and he was like 'oh shit, that guy is trespassed! He should not be in the building!' Turns out this man had been trespassed (a few months before i had started working there) for handing nude photos of himself to female staff and hanging around in the carpark, trying to get them to get into his car 'for a chat' when he saw them on break/before shifts. Needless to say they made their tresspass system more robust after this and i thankfully never saw him again. YIKES.

As someone diagnosed with BPD, it’s harmful to assume that about someone just off of a one-off story. You don’t know them or how they are in daily life. It adds stigma to people who are actually diagnosed.
