Fun fact, in Russia "Tmutarakan" nowadays means the same as "Bumfuck" - some small place far away from civilization. It is also a funny word for Russians (and probably most Slavics in general), because it basically sounds like "Darkcockroach/Darknesscockroach". Another funny Russian word for Bumfuck is Muhosransk - "Flyshitsk".
Also, apparently city got this name only during 10th century, when Slavs got hold of the area, and previously was called Samkerts by Hazars, so Paradox did a little whoopsie, lol. Hope they'll fix that, I really like CK3's feature of cities having different names based on the culture of it's owner.

Some more ethnonyms that are present on the game map got their names already in the Russian Empire. and I also can't understand why the name of the heir of the Alan duke is called by the old Russian word, which means "Ossetian woman"

I did this exact same challenge a few months ago starting with the same character. Also went for the Caucasus but then took over Cyprus as a base to invade. After Jerusalem was taken I realised that I was surrounded so I became a vassal of Egypt and then worked from the inside to destroy the sultanate, may have murdered a few Egyptian Sultans. Once I was independent and formed Israel I then went on to conquer Syria and Egypt as well, fully restoring the promised land. So glad that these obscure but fascinating characters are being done and look forward to your future videos Snap.
I played as this guy and randomly got a claim on the county of Krech in the Byzantine Empire. The Empire was in like 3 wars so i defeted them while having maybe like 700 soldiers of my own and around 2k from my allies.
Also in russian language "tmutarakan" became the word for "god forsaken place"

This is actually one of the easiest starts, since your culture is present only in your country you can build tall and boost development for the first phases of the game, but after you will find yourself with one of the most technological advanced cultures and one of the richest county that will easly able you to both take down kazaria and then take Jerusalem

I think my favorite playthrough I ever did in CK3 was this start. After getting freedom from the Khazar Khan, I infiltrated a collapsed Byzantines, forming a hybrid Israeli Greek culture and Christian Jewish syncretic faith. Generations later, Constantinople fell and the Byzraeli Empire dominated the Eastern Mediterranean.

Late to the party - and though I didn't play as this character I decided the Haesteinn route with it and managed to fell the Abbasids and Egypt. It was super fun and having a Viking/Arab super culture before 1000 AD is stupid fun. Still playing it. Hopefully by 1090 I can fight the cross proper.
The Jews in this region became vassals of Poland Lithuania up until some muslim nomadic group conquered it, I forgot who it was off the top of my head.

I recommend forming Bosnia via the decision. If you go for their unique religion (Krstjani) you can build two cathedrals in your land and become pretty rich.

Try the A.E.I.O.U achievement. It's pretty difficult and you can't go to war.

We play Paradox games. We know enough about politics to know there's nothing we can do about these kinds of situations, and the only thing *less* productive than taking it out on historical imperialist baddies in our own game saves is commenting political shit on this kind of video.

That's been done a thousand times. Tends to happen accidentally when you're doing Mother of us All, and it's well documented. Nothing wrong with that, but he did ask for ideas that haven't been overdone on video and people might not know about.

I usually just merge khazars with them, get their name list integrated and that cool name it comes up with, then do this lol
I don't think it's the hardest. Because your liege is Kuzarim you can stay rabbinic, plus if you form a hybrid culture with the Khazars (giving it the unique name Kuzarim) you can get horse archers. Then, take a county in de-jure isreal, declare independance from the Khagan, then swear fealty to whoever is in Jerusalem. I will say its super fun tho. If you want to get the revive Hebrew decision to work tho, you'll have to take another county cos Isreal doesn't have enough to meet the requirement (I reccomend Saini which also holds one of the holy sites)

@@xllunuimxb5492 nah it doesn't have a 476 start date; the closest one is 480 with Romulus already gone, though Julius Nepos is around to challenge Odoacer for Italy and restore the WRE.
Romulus is playable in the CK2 quivalent mod (forget the name), though.
