Finally watched this movie today after being intrigued by the trailer years ago - really enjoyed it. Tense and tragic. Amanda Seyfried and Julianne Moore worked really well together.
How did Amanda Seyfried and Julianne Moore prepare to do their sex scene together?
"Where the Truth Lies" includes another great girl on girl scene by Egoyan. He is a pretty nonmysoginist film maker. Often from a womans pov. Also in Chloe when Julianne's chracter gets her sex report from Chloe her vulnerability is really something to behold. Subtle acting.
I love her! She's one of my favorite actresses. And I really liked the movie, intense in a beautiful way, I'd say. But in this interview she seemed to me so nervous, so "I don't want to be here", I don't know if it's just me, but I kinda got the feeling that she may be a little embarrassed by her character (maybe I'm wrong, it's just my opinion).

Thought the movie was more about a toxic home wrecker, but it turned out more complex and deeper with a collision of a professionally successful woman having a middle age crisis and a young escort craving for love and intimacy. Glad I watched it!❤

Try "We Were Never Young" by Raised By Swans. I'm not sure it's the one you're thinking of, but I think I recall it to be the song Julianne's son plays, and in the movie there's an added run featuring Amanda's voice (which is not in the original song).
