I’m confused about the correct length of trousers. I have some lovely dark tartan trousers. They look great with loafers but they look too short with ankle boots. Is there a solution? ❤❤❤

Autumn has finally arrived and here in California the weather the weather has cooled to a perfect 70F. It can still be in the 100s+ this time of year, so it’s a lovely change. Choosing shoes is a bit tricky, though, it’s too cool for sandals or other open shoes, but still too warm for my beloved leather boots. I’m not a fan of either sneakers or high-heeled, pointy-toe pumps, I prefer a medium block-heeled leather shoe with my daily skirt outfits and dresses. A bit of a heel looks so much better with them and gives short me more confidence. I’m going out for a special lunch with the women of my family today and have a beautiful cream-on-dark brown spotted silk skirt outfit picked out, but don’t seem to have the right shoes. It’s so hard to find cooler, dark brown, all the browns still seem to be the warmer cognac brown, of which I have plenty of already. I would love suggestion for dark brown and taupe autumn footwear (genuine leather only), these colors are everywhere in clothing, but not in shoes. Love your channel❤
Hi Kimberly. I think a medium height block-heel shoe is a great concept for skirts and dresses - comfortable but with enough height to be flattering and elongating. I think it's hard to find dark brown shoes and they are often in warm dark tan colours, aren't they? If you can't find the right tone of dark brown, have you thought of nude shoes (if they tone well with the cream in your dress?) or maybe black. Dark brown can work with black, especially if the shoe isn't too chunky or solid. Some cobblers will dye leather shoes or you can dye them yourself. I once bought a pair of leather boots that were purple and deeply discounted (probably because they were purple). I sprayed them with a black dye for shoes. You couldn't tell that they hadn't always been black!

Just one thing though, I don’t consider 5’4 to be petite. As I’ve said before, that is tall compared to me at 5’0 which definitely is petite. I’d consider anything under 5’3 to be in the petite range.
Yes, to be honest, 5'4" is at the top of the range of "petite". It's a difficult height actually because I don't fit regular lengths (e.g. trousers) but, as you say, I'm not what you would classically call petite! XX

Could you feature a video on autumn outfits without any denim, please, especially one with skirts and dresses? I don’t like denim, a silk or knitted-wool or -cashmere skirt is my alternative. Quince has some lovely 100% cashmere knitted skirts for reasonable prices. I just got a navy one with their collared cashmere jumper in the same color, they’re lovely. I’m going back for more colors, cashmere skirts are hard to find. Sezane has some nice wool, and wool and cotton blends ones, too, and in minis as well as midis. (No brand affiliations, I’m just a consumer, not an influencer).🙂
