It's so sad in history paintings when A couple has the man as a soldier and in the happiest moments they suddenly die or get severely injured...Don't other people know the other ones that are their enemies also the same species?History is cruel.
The Templars were dedicated to God and were the among the most faithful. They were not monsters, they fought and lived for their faith and in no way can that be hated upon. The leaders of the Templars (as well as the Templars) were persecuted and tortured in cells and burned alive. They died for God. The people in these comment sections need to read books because that’s where real information comes from, not regurgitated crap from the internet
Isn't the point that we aspire to our best Godly aspirations? I would want my children to have this message. Even though we will never atain purity. I'm an old man with the luxury of already having lived a life. No matter the wrong I have done or done to me, I feel free from my past where my motives were pure.
Stories and paintings like this are the heart of duty to our world. To do right to our tribe, our lives are to keep our family together and strong. ❤❤❤
Isn’t this St. Elizabeth of Hungary, and her husband, Louis IV? Their story is so romantic! I read that he would fall asleep, while she prayed with his hand in hers. But he went off on crusade and died when they were quite young. Mid-twenties, I think.

As anyone who's read anything about the history of human conflict knows, this is indeed the last time they're going to be together. Of he dies, then she's a widow and that's that. If he does come back, he's coming as a completely different person. The change might be imperceptible at first, but given time it will thrive and mount. If what they had during their time before the altar was strong and trully good, they're both going to try hard to get used to each other and to love each other again, almost from scratch. That's just the way we've been screwing the best amongst us, since before we knew how to write about it.
