I took my wife's Jeep Rubicon Hardrock for service yesterday and test drove a 2019 Rebel V8 to pass the time. I was immediately drawn to the rugged yet sharp looking exterior, but once I got inside I was blown away. Best interior I've seen in any truck! Driving it was just icing on the cake. Previously, I was considering a 2019 Tundra due to their outstanding reliability, but now I'm not so sure...
Nice video. My 2020 Rebel has no issues. No weird sounds, no camera issues, no screen issues (flicker). I bought the truck October 2019 and have a few thousand miles on it. I've towed my camper and taken the truck off road in the Hill Country of Texas. Yeah, gas millage sucks ass but I didn't buy the truck for fuel efficiency :-). I have the standard 5.7V8.
RAM-1500 KING OF TRUCKS Hey King. My Longhorn didn’t come with it. Don’t think I really need it. I just use 4x4 when needed. You know our Manitoba winters. Tonight it’s going down to -40 with the windchill. Icy roads also. Tow trucks are going to be busy boosting all those Ford and GM’s. Lol. Rams will be ok. Cheers
got lots of relatives in Manitoba ..lol.. I guess your use to that weather by now but here in the Vancouver area were getting hit with snow , we got 20 cm last night in coquitlam ..drove the truck today seemed okay with the 22's on it...lol..
Love my Rebel, I honestly think my 2.7L Ecoboost was faster than my Hemi with much better mpg, but there is something about that V8 with an aftermarket exhaust. There is a sense of occasion you get when you drive these trucks that always puts a smile in my soul that you can't get with a V6.
14:07 you can also expect the rear window frame to crack and leak water. Main culprit is believed to be the added air turbulence from adding a tonneau cover. Its turning into a common problem but you may want to have it looked at if hasn't started leaking.
My stitching is dirty at 6k miles and I'm always have clean clothes. It's just something that gets dirty. My rebel has been great so far. Getting ready to level, 35's, and airbags. My rebel only get 13.3 around town and my tires have gotten loud. My pedal commander is Bluetooth with an app and is mounted underneath the dash.

Hi there just got a 2021 ram rebel. Absolutely love it but I started to hear a creaking noise comming from the steering shaft as it goes into the firewall when in turn the steering wheel either direction . Driving me crazy any ideas of what it could be
I can try to get u a pic of the area. Took it to the dealers and told them what I was experiencing. Took the tech for a ride along. I can hear it but he said he could not. He then drove it heard the sounds and proceeded to tell me it was normal. Did not do it when I first got it and he checked 3 other trucks on the lot and they did not make the noise.
1st of all I enjoy your videos especially the Ram ones, 2nd I just purchased and picked up a 2020 Ram Big Horn night edition on Friday so I hope it was worth it. I haven't had a new Dodge Ram since 2001 and that one had its issues but mostly ones due to my local dodge dealer. Keep up the great videos
I mentioned that fan whistle noise to you a while back, I’m very sorry you found out your truck has it too. It’s very annoying. Sometimes I forget about it, but when I’m just cruising with the sound off, it is the most annoying thing in the world. Hopefully they can find a fix for it!

The wind whistle is probably from your in dash filter. I have a 2010 that they use to not have interior filter but I added one and now have a slight whistle. But the trade off is way less dust.
I get the wind whistle in the dash in my Laramie on the passenger side at around the 2-3 setting. It took me a minute to figure out what was wrong as I thought it might be something loose. It isn’t. My wife doesn’t like getting hit directly be the air from the AC, so she closes the vents when she gets in the passenger side. When I hear the sound, I can open the vents and the whistle disappears.

Hammerdown Motorsports I do haul a good bit of firewood here in WV during the winter months. I do have a quad that I think would fit in it perfectly if I got the Ram boxes.
I have the Line X spray in bedliner on my 2019 Ram Big Horn and no issues shutting the tailgate, everything is smooth. I've had mine for 8 months with 2500 miles on it now and no issues. I really like the truck and that's coming from an old Ford guy. Can't comment on Chevy, never had that badge on any vehicle I ever owned. lol
I don’t know if you’ve answered this, but what do you use on your black plastic trim, like on the sport hood vents and front bumper?... looks great in the video

Enjoy your videos. Have you checked your vents to make sure they are all the way open? I’ve had vehicles make a whistle sound and found the passenger side vents were partially closed. Opened them all the way and the noise went away.
Awesome looking Ram man! Glad to hear Ben Hardy got a Ford. Should notice a sharp decrease in useless clickbait videos in Ram search results. My sympathies to guys looking for info on Fords.

I thought I was the only one you saw the gas mileage go down. I think it need premium gas for it and I am going to try it. 2019 ram rebel book says 87 and I thought it need 91
Have you tried talking to the GM at the dealership? I tried it and called FCA directly and it seemed to work. But tbh you’d probably do a better job on your truck then them lol
Love the videos and certainly understand your frustration with idiots Quick question; mopar has a cold air intake for these out now, they are not cheap but just wondering your thoughts with that awesome exhaust..? Tnks
I have the climate fan whistle in my 2019 Laramie Longhorn. I'm not even going to have the dealer look at it. I'll just get the standard "we couldn't replicate the problem" statement...
Holy crap!!! Please tell me your truck has the same problem as mine and that I’m not going crazy. So you’re driving on the highway, and you click the button to recirculate the air within the cabin and it starts whistling? 2019 Laramie
@@lpwbeasty I leave mine on auto all the time and just set the desired temperature. When the fan hits a certain speed, it whistles. Sounds like high pitched microphone feedback. You name a problem, my truck has it. Completely abysmal quality. Even worse dealer network experience when trying to get things repaired. FCA makes great vehicles on paper. It's a shame. The trucks are world class design, just horrible quality control.
Can't decide if I want the Laramie or the Rebel, they're the same price but the Laramie has more luxury and the Rebel is more capable. 2400 miles in 6 months?!?! You bought the truck, now you need to start using it.
I've watched your videos enough to know you are not bias to one manufacturer. But all the little complaints you mentioned this video like the clunking, the whistling, the discolored stitching etc would annoy the hell out of me if I bought a brand new not cheap truck. Forgiving all that just because of the sound the mufflers makes sounds a bit ridiculous too, come on let's be honest.
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA Steve you could do what most customers do and that would be call the zone, call the service manager direct and tell him your disappointment with the service department, go the the GM and complain. I know it's shitty of a customer to do that, but if you remember when you were in the shop the loudest customer got the best service. Depends where you live I guess lol
Interior/there is no comparison between the two
Ford wouldn’t even move from sticker price for me on the Raptor I looked at
And sticker on my Rebel was 59k and they let it go for just under 47
Love the truck
That said the Raptor is pretty awesome
No flicker in my backup cam
Hate that the seats aren’t cooled and I’m in Texas so it’s almost a must now that I know they exist
How did you get them to come down so much in price?
Do you have any rough shifts going from 1st to second when the truck is cold?
Have noticed some screen issues with the 8.4" too. So issues are not limited to the 12
Cory McDonald no shifting issues with my Ram shifting hard at all
Cory McDonald but I do always warm it up before I go anywhere in the cold
Hey bud it’s the sway bar links. I had this for about 5k miles and drove me crazy. It’s worn out the links
Even though it’s tight it’s bad and needs replacement
Can you put an address in your navigation? Every time I do it says searching offline then it kicks it off.
MR. CEO I hated the nav in my black truck so in the rebel I use waze with apple CarPlay it’s way better
I had mine for about year its a great truck even tho there is a clunking sound in the front
Great video!
Where did you get the steering wheel cover at ?because I'm having a hard time finding the right fit .
It doesn't have a steering wheel cover lol
Wow I thought that was a steering wheel cover ..dont know why mines looks small is crap ...lol
Heated steering wheel is pretty thick compared to non-heated.
@@cueball981 that's the crazy thing I have the heated steering wheel lol ...
@@alphonsoburton9409 hmmm, maybe there's a different style on the rebel?? I own a Laramie.
Nice Ram it sounds badass, witch borla exhaust system do you have.
It's so big. I'll hate to parallel park it. Or drive it in Chicago or some city.
Dan Steiner the camera and sensors help but I am not in the city all that much
Glad to hear Ben Hardy got a Ford. Should notice a sharp decrease in useless clickbait videos in Ram search results. My sympathies to guys looking for info on Fords.
Great video. Chuckle at the drizzle shelter seekers. :)
I just subscribed:) Did you customize yours to get the sounds like how it is or is that how all rebels sound, I'm thinking of buying a ram for the first time. Thanks Hammer
Sean awesome welcome to the channel my exhaust is the Borla atak that’s how I get that awesome sound thanks for watching
Okay then I know who to go to when I purchase mine:)I was thinking of getting a sport one but I somehow found your video/channel and man that sounds hard to resist lol. Thanks Hammer and great 👍 video by the way
I thought I was the only one you saw the gas mileage go down. I think it need premium gas for it and I am going to try it. 2019 ram rebel book says 87 and I thought it need 91
I run 93 lol
Lol and it's still bad ahahah. Hey I run my truck just as hard as you do
I dont think they even have 93 in Canada or I havent since it around
The raptor should get the supercharged V8 they had in the old harley edition f150s. Just my opinion
I love those old harley trucks but they don't make them anymore just an after market one for 100k no thanks
Congrats on the citizenship!
Hi This Is Neeley thank you
Have you tried talking to the GM at the dealership? I tried it and called FCA directly and it seemed to work. But tbh you’d probably do a better job on your truck then them lol
yeah I don't really want the hassle when in the end I probably will just be mad they did nothing Ill just find a new dealership
Love the videos and certainly understand your frustration with idiots
Quick question; mopar has a cold air intake for these out now, they are not cheap but just wondering your thoughts with that awesome exhaust..?
Tnks
I'm waiting for Cold Air Inductions to come out with their cold air setup, the exhaust is one of my favorite mods on the truck for sure
Merica! Congrats on citizenship brother.
I have the climate fan whistle in my 2019 Laramie Longhorn. I'm not even going to have the dealer look at it. I'll just get the standard "we couldn't replicate the problem" statement...
yup that's what I would expect too sad customer service is so bad
Turd Ferguson lol I don’t really drive far around here plus I have other cars too
I've watched your videos enough to know you are not bias to one manufacturer.
I love the muffler
Congratulations on your new U.S. citizenship!
thank you
Being a retired GM tech if this happens to my 2019 longhorn I'll just throw a set of stab links on mine instead of arguing with the dealer.
Yeah it is best to do it yourself but I paid for a new truck I should get the warranty stuff taken care of but yeah on the hunt for a better dealer
I had a hard tome doing that when I was younger dealing with stores and contractors, but as I've gotten older I have no problem voicing my opinion or dislike.
@@smrdmr1 true but i have told these guys a few times about things and they just care about easy money not customer service I am done shopping there
Shiiiiiiiieeeet my dawg you good ol Canadian? Or were you just up here for work?
I was born in Edmonton Alberta I moved to PA about 7 years ago yup born Canadian now a dual citizen
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA solid my dude! Yeah i guess PA people don't really know how much snow we get up here. Live in Kelowna now and it's just dumping none stop today had to snow plow 3 times today lol
@@nabatron21 yeah man I remember those times I loved riding out in BC i took my bike from Parksville to Fort Mac was epic
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA im in Vancouver myself Steve ! Hope you visit someday, will be a great meet up. On a different note the front end of My rebel 12 started squeaking from last week, dealership just ordered new shocks 😑 and said they have no clue regards to the issue, but decided to swap shocks instead.😂 #joiningtheteam
suhail a awesome I would love to take the family to BC someday, dealers suck I’ll figure it out thanks for watching
grey skies
Best thing about Owning a dodge ,,,,, you get free coffee at stealership
Ya give the Rebel a 7.5... really?? That ear to ear grin says something different.
jwolveee if it had the 360 camera cooled seats no clunks good dealer service factory 35s and ambient lighting it would have got a 10
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA I'm with you! And don't forget exhaust from the factory that lets that Hemi truly sing! I mean, it is a REBEL! 😎👍
Ben seems to push what he owns a bit. Human nature.
the whole reason i will not buy a ram is because of my dealership experiences with my hellcat
After watching this video, I understand why you only get 11mpg.😂
Liled3 Gun lol truth
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA I'm getting a 2020 Rebel at the end of the week. Can't wait..........
Liled3 Gun congrats
I LOVE the Raptor exterior but anyone else think Ford interior is super... Cheap and crappy? Looking to buy a RAM by the end of the year!
Dealerships suck. Most people just don't give a crap about the quality of the their work. So much for quality control. You would think the factory would catch that whistle but what are they going to do - actually fix it.
