  • What happens when you have a bunch of mainline freights and a crew on a local job trying to get done before time runs out.. You start racing the clock on the mainline!
    The day starts out slow but watch how things get crazy when the mainline starts getting congested and the dispatcher is trying to get trains across the subdivision. Come watch the battle both on the mainline and in the dispatchers office. Our cameras are in both spots!

    If this railroad was backdated to 1985 Chessie operations I would be in heaven ! Lol 😂

      Yes most definitely maybe not that railroad how's Guildford rail systems. The old Boston and Maine. It is called Pam am railways now. They sold it to CSX 1 1/2 years ago. They kept 80% of The locomotives They had a 102 I belive they kept 90 of them

      Ever since The new railroad is purchased the old pam am CSX This has definitely improved the track maintenance And replaced a lot of track and railroad ties that desperately needed it. It wouldn't cause a derailment already thing. But their track speed limit through certain areas was absolutely pathetic. 15 mph It even dropped down to 10MPH is some areas for a short distances. I am happy CSX will Improve the track infrastructure.

      So far, they have improved the track infrastructure big time. CSX has Increase speed limits where once they were 10 miles per hour. Now they are 25 miles per hour. That is much better that's a slow cruising speed. Not too slow, but a slow cruising speed. Nonetheless, it's a lot better than 10 miles per hour for Pete's sake. Are you familiar with this railroad?pam am?

    I love this ! It is not model railroading, but "railroading". Great operations! Must be a treat operating on that layout. The weathered cars are gorgeous !

      Thank you! When this club layout was designed and built, our # 1 priority was to design it for operations. Fully working CTC signal system with the ability to run either as full ABS or full CTC. Luckily for us, some of our members are retired railroaders who are passionate about operations and we have a former CSX dispatcher who dispatches during our ops sessions. Cant get any better than that!

      its actually Scott aka "Southern Railfanning" making these videos and Jeff is making the video "shorts" plus the cab rides around the layout.

    I'm glad to see video of signals operating. Most club videos won't show this. I'm a retired signal maintainer with Conrail and Norfolk-Southern railroads. I have worked pennsy lines and Reading lines in central Pennsylvania.

    Even though you're a local, you need to provide cover for that flammable tank. Awesome layout

      Yep. The load needs five cars between it and a loco or caboose (the train looks long enough for that; in the middle of the train, if it's not) and the empty on the way back needs one car between.

    This is such a fantastic layout, the scenes are so realistic especially the closeup footage of locos and trains.
    I dream aimlessly about building a layout of this caliber but neither time or space will allow that for me.
    Take care and thanks.

      There are other things you could do to scratch the itch, like build for profit, switches. There's this place called Fast Tracks that sells turnout jigs and you buy the rail, their tools to build them and you can make a full metal turnout with no plastic parts. People might pay money for them too. You could build them to order or just for fun.
      Their tools aren't going to be cheap but once you own them it is hard to imaging the jigs wearing out.

    • @beeble2003
      @beeble2003 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@centralfloridarailroadmodelers Could be -- vegetable oil usually isn't placarded, as far as I'm aware.. If you care enough to look, the UN hazmat code for ethanol is 1987. It'll be readable on the decal, but it's too small to make out in the video. Next question is whether a small distributor would be blending ethanol and gasoline anyway. My guess is not, but I'm asking because I'm curious, not because I'm complaining about exactly what car you're putting in which industry.
