The stepchild is the greatest truck that thing is sick. You need to finish it and put in the hall of fame for the most perfect custom jeep. Problem is when way far away from home when you break stuff from hard core wheeling locally nobody will have parts for it. I just think in a couple more years you might be couple hundred thousand into that thing. I think you need to go trail mater style and build a rig that has all common parts and wheel the shit out of it. That jeep is just so nice it doesn't make since. Love the channel your mechanic your crew is awesome. Your wife knows so much stuff about 4x4 stuff. Thanks for the vids.
Simple fix for the bolts backing out of the exhaust valve. Drill a small hole across the head of each allen bolt and run a lock wire through to prevent them from backing out.
I like how Chris is thinking about details like the lights in the back and how to stiffen all up, moving the compressor and so on. I think everyone of us would be happy if we could have "our own Chris" 😀. How nice would it be to come home with some broken stuff (like we always do) and just call Chris and he's not only going to fix it, he also makes it better?!
We want to go wheeling. It’s been too long not wheeling. The full cage will come later once we get some content again using the stepchild. She’s been down toooooo long
Screw the Dynamat. Even after exhaust gets coated it's still going to get hot enough where the butyl on the Dynamat starts to stink like roofing tar. Just bedline the tub & top it off with something like Armor Lite or BedTred flooring system. If you insist on the sound deadner route go with Second Skin. Dynamat is just the most known deadner but far from being the best or even good for that matter. Dynamat is to sound deadner what Bondo is to body filler.
That's pretty much what happened with my JK after I LS swapped it. The cab was starting to cook & the excessive noise was driving me nuts. I ended up doing 2 layers of deadner & a layer of acoustic sound barrier and on hot summer days the cab had this odor like old country road asphalt tar. Then yanking the deadner out was the absolute biggest PITA. One of my biggest regrets with my build...and I've had plenty of regrets so that's says a lot.
That's a common problem in the car audio big Basshead builds. Those guys have like half a dozen layers of sound deadner. I went to a big meet in SoFlo and the whole lot stunk like a newly paved road from all the Butyl cooking in the sun.
I like how Chris pointed out Kevin's penitentiary pants. Cause I wanted to say Kevin, nice work jeans you have there😂 Good job reassembling your diverter motor assembly Kevin. Another great shop video with Chris. I really enjoy seeing your projects come together & how you explain as you go. Also excellent editing Britney. What a great team you all make
May want to build a truss connecting the tops of the shock towers. I had similar issues with a truck and using a camera you'd see the frame flexing. The truss solved the issue and isolated the stress to the suspension. Actually could feel the added control in the suspension. Hope that helps.
Wow! Watching StepChild strip reminds us she’s all grown up! The fine adjustments on the front - just amazing - you made it look easy. Roll bar and braces look so good, maybe paint them and leave uncovered to show them off..? Nice work Chris. Kevin, you looked so happy getting the exhaust valve to work! LiteBriteNationCracksUp!
Sorry Kevin, but it’s not going to be the first JL with rear heated seats. I installed them in mine. It is fairly easy to do. I put rear heated seats in all my vehicles.
Keep both the build and wheeling videos coming! Really I love the build videos…to be able to see what it takes to keep our rigs running…gives me ideas and that I am not the only one that constantly addresses items on my 4x4. Great work Chris! Of course the channel works because of Brittany! And Kevin is always good…even if for a laugh.
Like always a great video of Chris wrenching. Understandable why you guys didn’t do a full cage, but also can’t wait to see when you guys end up doing one.
Will Chris do a wiring video with what all he uses to make it look good and little hacks and things? Id really appreciate it and love watching him work.
It’s cool of Chris to take Kevin’s pedal extensions off before he films the drivers floor area. That’s a friend. I’d let the whole world see the 2x4’s taped on the gas & brake The Jeep cage is pretty thin. Considering where this rig goes, it should have a cage. If you can’t get someone to give it to you, it would be worth buying to protect your body
It would seem that the factory roll cages wasn't designed for the abuse that Kevin puts it through. Sometimes, you just have to mod the inside to stiffen it up. Happy Trails to all at LBN.
Kind of surprised Kevin didn’t decide to do a full custom cage from front to back. I suppose if there’s no issues with the front section then there’s no reason to change it. But if he starts wheeling hard again then I imagine you’ll find more cracks in the pieces of factory cage still remaining.
Since you are working on the roll cage and Chris mentioned that a lot of ppl see issues with the center cross-bar why not weld the seams to create more rigidity now verses waiting to deal with it later when it does crack? Chris’s dimes are wicked nice too btw.
Check into lizard skin thermal and heat shield, it’s a sparky in and pricey but the best product I found on the market yet, that stuff is completely bad ass and pair that with armor light carpet replacement very nice and durable and low maintenance to stay looking nice
Just watched an old video of you guys and I honestly miss seeing Jelly in the videos. You should bring back little snip bits of your pups at the end of your videos. #jellynation
Why even put a stock bumper on the Bronco Chris maybe you can build a super Chris Bumper for the Bronco you do some of the best Fab jobs when it comes to making things work.
Great video! I hope you wired the rear seat heaters while it was apart. What's up with the battery change? Also, Husky gloves......Come on! Your Snap-On dealer should be ashamed. Can't send the Snap-On poster boy a pair of gloves.......
hmm.. maybe run the external reservoirs under the c pillar instead of across the back.. just a idea.. Not sure if they would be in the way of something else but it may work better.
Wonder how many 'street driven only' Wranglers end up with that cracking,... betting on None. Nice location for the reservoirs, keeps them well out of the way of being caught on any obstacle off road.
Just starting to build my 2018 JL Sahara Unlimited. I'm curious if I put a lift on it and go to 35" tires, will I really need to regear. I currently have the 8 speed automatic with the Rear Dana 44 HD Axel with Anti-Spin Differential 3.45 Gear Ratio. I do have the Tazer Mini to reconfigure with. Thanks
Makes sense to me to let the cage flex.( Crossbar with bushings)If you stiffen the cage up it will put all the stress somewhere else. Most likely body mounts.
Perhaps, Chris should have his own channel? All fabrication, all the time. You could call it: Lite Brite Day Care. Lite Brite could still do wheeling and drifting, like before. More income opportunity. Just a thought.
That was what I was concerned about when I saw how they were integrating the door structures into the roll bars like that. Chris: was there an advantage to using round tube vs square extrusion to replace the damaged cross bar, or was it just simply a "use the stock we got" situation?

Chris is just amazing. I always look forward to watching anything he is working on.
Always fun to see Chris do his fabrication.
When Chris isn’t workin on His acting career…✌️
Sorry, I already have rear heated seats in my JL for the rear passengers. Had them done in my PRP seats and my son loves it.
It's really gonna suck not seeing Chris on the channel 😢 I love the experience and energy he brings to the channel! Love all you guys!
Kevin got in a hurry months ago he said it was cracked and had a spare cage. Instead of changing it, he chose to continue the build
I think Chris is the only Mechanic to ever find a lost 10mm socket.😂😂
I think it was staged.😂😂
A little surprised with all the new mods and extreme wheeling they are still using the stock cage
We want to go wheeling. It’s been too long not wheeling. The full cage will come later once we get some content again using the stepchild. She’s been down toooooo long
A full cage should be the first mod of any serious wheeler. unfortunately its the last most of the time.
Yeah buddy! Always fun watching Chris fabricate and explain his thought process. 👍👍
Good call on cutting out and replacing, rather than welding up cracks. Love the content.
A year in the making. Building my first jk. Just Empty Every Pocket 😂. Almost ready to start hitting trails for the first time

at first i heard penetra...pants...😆
When they said "roll cage" ,I don`t think they had you guys in mind. Stay safe guys.
May want to build a truss connecting the tops of the shock towers. I had similar issues with a truck and using a camera you'd see the frame flexing. The truss solved the issue and isolated the stress to the suspension. Actually could feel the added control in the suspension. Hope that helps.
Its crazy how good chris is at making stuff from scratch. Usually making it better or just as good as most market stuff.😂😂😂
Put the ARB under the passenger seat, so when Brit is mad at Kev he could just turn on the air and make her smile.
I always enjoy the Chris videos. Guy is a great fabricator and story teller.
Gotta admit, it's been through some stuff 😂. Great video guys ❤️❤️💯🤙

Roll bar and braces look so good, maybe paint them and leave uncovered to show them off..? Nice work Chris. Kevin, you looked so happy getting the exhaust valve to work! LiteBriteNationCracksUp!
Thanks for keeping your content original and true to who you are!
Sorry Kevin, but it’s not going to be the first JL with rear heated seats. I installed them in mine. It is fairly easy to do. I put rear heated seats in all my vehicles.
Chris...you are da MAN! Always impressed with your abilities to build these vehicles!

I love these build videos.
I bet Kevin will hate that dome light when they get it shining in his eyes through the rearview, but thats a minor detail, amazing job Chris!
Haha, finish it up and then start with a new one incorporating all the things you’ve learned/done to the stepchild! 😁
Maybe you could try drilling holes in the Alen heads and wire them together to keep them from backing out of the exhaust
Will Chris do a wiring video with what all he uses to make it look good and little hacks and things? Id really appreciate it and love watching him work.

Cage isn’t the problem. The time it takes is the problem. The jeep has been down for a year and I want to freaking go offroadin!!

my question exactly. why not just do a full cage while the interior is out lol
No time. We plan to in the future but really want to wheel the jeep. It’s been over a year since we’ve had proper fun
Should have a contest, that we can win Chris for a day!
Ahh I’ve been waiting for a video showing more of this since you guys first showed the crack in a video.
OUTSTANDING Chris! a face shield and a particle mask 👍👍👍👍
Product development is tedious, BUT sooooo worth the outcome with the right ingredients 👊🏻🥃! Keep up the hard work everyone 🎉🥃👊🏻Cheers!
Is Chris making Kevin a better mechanic or a fabricator...great job Chris
Since you are working on the roll cage and Chris mentioned that a lot of ppl see issues with the center cross-bar why not weld the seams to create more rigidity now verses waiting to deal with it later when it does crack? Chris’s dimes are wicked nice too btw.
Nice work Chris!
I like the shop videos. Chris amazes me with the work he does.
Great job on that roll bar structure and customization- Chris👍🙌🏻
Hey Chris, how bout having the cargo light on a switch that comes on with the rear door opening. That would be awesome.
Awesome fab work Chris👍
Could you lower the sway bar mount and use a shorter arm? Then fab a protective plate for the bar?
how about calling it the lap ( little a.. pain ) lol. great job again.
Razor blade + part of a pen = snow day?
If this vehicle wasn’t modified, I’d say finding a razor blade in close proximity to the insidey bits of a bic pen (sans tube) seems a bit sus… 😂
When you want to scrape the dirt and grime and old sealant off. It makes total sense.
Kevin u know if u just jump on the braptors bumper it will clearance itself for now rite ........
Awesome work Chris.
Why even put a stock bumper on the Bronco Chris maybe you can build a super Chris Bumper for the Bronco you do some of the best Fab jobs when it comes to making things work.
I inverted my sway bar once. Tore up all kinds of stuff. That was a long 2 hour drive home. I use quick disconnects now instead of the electric.
Great work Chris🎉
Why a new battery? Didn't you put the lithium battery in less than a year ago?
You’re rear cargo lights supper close to hitting the soft top or am I seeing things?
Love that another great job Chris
Great video! I hope you wired the rear seat heaters while it was apart. What's up with the battery change? Also, Husky gloves......Come on! Your Snap-On dealer should be ashamed. Can't send the Snap-On poster boy a pair of gloves.......
uhhhhh cause the snapon gloves cost a lot😆(i do have) and the husky ones dont.😂
I guaranty they are $$$$ but someone has sold Chris so so so many tools. Surely that salesman can give him some gloves :) @@Garage_Speed
Super impressive work Chris!
Razor blade and part of a pen. Sounds like the 80's😂
That might be the first time I've seen a 10mm being FOUND. 😂
Why not use limiting straps for added piece of mind in the event of over travel?
THANKS, Chris!!!
You guys need a Genright cage!!!!
it didn't come with a factory roll cage, it came with a factory sports bar! big legal difference lol jeep never calls it a roll cage!
With all the modifications I am amazed it is not cracked more. To much fun not enough structure.
That replacement bar for the roll cage and the dome lights are🔥. I'm wondering if the cargo light will interfere with the slant top...
I am just wondering if you guys are going the step child sticker with the new paint? You don’t need to but I thought it would be cool.
New logos to come!
Chris, the 10mm is the one that gets lost the most, so you know it’s a 10. Stop playin 😂😂😂
Hey Chris grab you a magnetic ground clamp and you don’t have to weld on ground clamps.
it was faster to tac that on there then go get a wrench. lol
Missed line: 'The only thing that needs to be hot- is Brittany'
Nice work Chris.
Do you think having the full rock hard brace system would have prevented this?
You should look at swayloc. Why not full cage?
I wonder if you replaced that system with a manual to get rid of that set up.
hmm.. maybe run the external reservoirs under the c pillar instead of across the back.. just a idea.. Not sure if they would be in the way of something else but it may work better.
have you thought about creatiing a better cage while the jeep in apart? The sport cage is already there...maybe weld it all together?
Wonder how many 'street driven only' Wranglers end up with that cracking,... betting on None.
Nice location for the reservoirs, keeps them well out of the way of being caught on any obstacle off road.
The New Bronco Sport cage is made of Boron steel, is it the same on the jeep?
I might’ve missed it, but why not just do a full weld in cage? Like Genright or Motobilt. Or designed by Chris.
Thanks
Drive it and see. It should be fine. You might just lose 8th gear a lot but mpg won’t change much
Should be covered under warranty right?!? Right?!?1
Chris is amazing. 👍
Why don't you put some one-inch blocks under the swaybar?
Makes sense to me to let the cage flex.( Crossbar with bushings)If you stiffen the cage up it will put all the stress somewhere else. Most likely body mounts.
Perhaps, Chris should have his own channel? All fabrication, all the time. You could call it: Lite Brite Day Care. Lite Brite could still do wheeling and drifting, like before. More income opportunity. Just a thought.
Might be hard to see out the rear view mirror.
Curious to see how this new cage will work with the soft top.
That was what I was concerned about when I saw how they were integrating the door structures into the roll bars like that. Chris: was there an advantage to using round tube vs square extrusion to replace the damaged cross bar, or was it just simply a "use the stock we got" situation?
Jimny is officially "Lil Pita" now
If I was going that far I'd be doing a full cage. But not my build and not my money. It does look good though.
A full cage would take way too much additional time. The vehicle has been down a year and it’s time to wheel. A cage will come next year or 2
Raceland has better exhaust valves than QTP. Know from experience.
Not sure why Chris wouldn’t just take the doors off to get them out of the way and have more room to get in
I’m a packaging designer with 29 years experience, I’ve designed boxes and inserts for stuff just like your exhaust. I’d be glad to help. 😊
@21:03
How long have you been looking for the 10mm socket?
Just think Kevin just drive in the winter that way you don't have to spend any money.😅hahahahaha 😅
i don't think the stock cage was designed for the crazy stuff that kevin does with the step child.
Get rid of the sway bar, maybe get more flex without it. 🤔🤨
