My only concern with it is the weight really. It looks super performant but right now, at 130g my naked SWIT Flow6500 is just killing it even though it's like 3 times more expensive as a setup, I like saving these 200g but this looks really dope though!
So can I set this up to an outdoor antenna and fly from inside my house? I'm looking to make a external antenna to go in home or a vehicle so I can stay in shade with full strength. Please don't tell me it's illegal idc so is texting and driving and it's more dangerous yet yall do it everyday

This is great! Can't wait to get it! Question though - you said camera transmission is your biggest problem and DJI transmission goes forever. What is your set up? We have DJI remote with stock antennas, True RC patch antennas, into the air unit on the drone and the signal falls off sometimes pretty quick. Please help haha thanks!
True RC stubby on goggles (unless I need to penetrate or go far than x-air) and true Rc singularity on the drone. I also take the time to test channels and look for best signal
I love your excitement about this!!! I looked at purchasing it for my Cinelifter setup when it came out, but I was worried about the extra weight and possible interference with the dji system. Have you had any issues with them fighting each other, or are you just making sure they are running at two different gigahertz before takeoff. Also no one was talking about it for drone use, not even dji…. Also, how are you getting some of that range in your goggle feed? Especially in those city shots?
The weight is mostly negligible on cinelifters IMO. As for interference, I haven’t had a problem so long as the vtx powers on AFTER the FPV system is on. This way it recognizes the RF environment and selects a channel appropriately.
Dude i been wanting for dji to create a rx and tx device that can be small enough to put on mavic or in the middle place where you think you will loose signal it would be able to take the signal of the quad when you are about to lose it and send it back to the goggles, there are some devices like that for analog but nothing for dji bummer
I love everything you do Tommy, and I appreciate the content, but...........I'm not putting anymore money into DJI, just to have them abandon it like the Goggles V1, V2, Air Units, and Caddx Vistas have, or will be. I've got thousands of dollars sunk into a bunch of crap that has no, or will have no replacements available, or anything new that's even backwards compatible. I have 5 Original DJI air Units that haven't been able to record flight footage from day one, and randomly freeze during flights, with DJI not giving a shit about it. When all of my Vistas and air Units, or my Goggles V2 fail, I'm done with DJI. The screens went bad on the V1 goggles after less than a year, with no help from DJI. With all the headaches that come with HD Fpv, I'd rather just fly analog. I've seen so many HD Fpv systems come out, and then just disappear after people have spent a lot of money on them. Now these people have expensive equipment that they can't receive parts or service for....Aherm Bite Frost, Shark Bite, and now we can add DJI to the list also. Analog may not have the best image quality, but it's cheaper, has great latency, always readily available, and it's not locked down to any particular company. Thanks for the review,but I'll pass.🤙
Vistas are compatible with new Goggles 2. New V3 air unit is compatible with V2 goggles. That's been interpreted from the leaked pictures. They show packages with new equipment and V2 goggles, and goggles 2 both! 😎🤘

It seems as though DJI just loses interest in products, and decides to stop all support, then move along as though there's not any issues. Like I mentioned in my earlier post. I have a bunch of OG Air units that still can't do onboard dvr recording, and DJI has yet to fix it, and has absolutely abandoned them, leaving customers with expensive half baked products. No thanks. Not to knock down your assessment, but I can't go based off of something being interpreted from a leak as being backwards compatible. Until it's proven, or announced by DJI, I'm not holding my breath. I've heard two different stories on the matter, one says yes backwards compatibility, the other says no backwards compatibility. Guess we'll see.🤙 It'll be cool for the people who stay with DJI if true, but images can and have been manipulated. 🤷
DJI is not the answer, it is the sacrilege on drone flying in general. Drones have not been cheap, but nobody needs a single company to dictate how many hundreds of euros one has to pay just to get vision going. DJI has been the worst that could have happened and it destroyed this hobby almost entirely for me!
Problem is that nobody is doing HD digital links that are as reliable as DJI. That is just the simple truth of it. They have largely got multipathing beat in environments where Analog goes batsh1t even with CP antennas.... and like was mentioned the directors hate seeing analog and want that HD feed. I hate DJI for all the crap they pulled trying to get in bed with the FAA and push their proprietary system as the basis for flying anything drone. But for HD video link that is affordable and reliable, they have set a very high bar and given the number of the OG crew that have settled on using it for commercial work, it is worth listening to them.
@@christophergran8313 he's probably referring to the way DJI mass produces and markets easy to use affordable drones that can fly much further than is legally allowed. These are the type of drones that are often getting flown illegally and putting the FPV hobby into heavy regulation. The good comes with the bad I suppose.
DJI isn't affordable in my oppinion. And they create a closed system in a hobby that originally became interesting because it used to be open. They have the best tech but they have it because they are applying evil economy driven tactics to a defenseless ecosystem.

Hi bro, is it possible to trigger the Komodo from the dji bright screen with the proper 9pin cable connected from the komodo to the vtx? if I trigger from komodo i see the bright screen sending signal and recording fine both ways but the other way around havnt been able to get it working.

The latency is def not good enough to fly with, but certainly enough for say a focus puller to do their job. Me flying out of it was only an emergency scenario

I don’t have any numbers but I would guess it’s definitely low enough for a camera operator to do their thing (especially if I’m able to fly off it)
