Человек имеет токарный станок, а вилку кордана приваривает наглазок. Я бы сделал посадочную проточку и прихватывал бы в тисках, как минимум. Соединение было бы гораздо точнее и прочнее на срез. А так ,.молодец мужик. Болгаркой умеет работать.
Don't think I have ever seen a two inch drill bit before and I worked of two years as aprentist machinist that was A long time ago .My little lath wouldn't even spin that .Only turns 9 inches .People don't realize how long it takes to machine pieces like that .Great job

young man using a lot of hand tools and an older lathe you have an amazing talent for fabricating what you want, excellent engineering skills and forward thinking in your build of the tracked vehicle you are building ,looking forward your next video.
One thing I’m wondering about is why not make holes on flanges so yoke collar is a tight fit,then welded both sides? I’ve done it that way on field repairs and is much cleaner and stronger. I was a mobile mechanic for farm industry at one point in my life.
If I may offer a suggestion for those "U" joint bearing caps, pack them full of grease, remove the plug or grease fitting for assembly. This holds the needle bearings in place while, at the same time, filling the entire U-joint full of grease, hence, won't need to grease when completely assembled since you "pre" greased. Am truly enjoying this build, looking forward to seeing the video. Cheers :)
If you want your pto shafts to last you really should machine a shoulder on the universal end you are mounting on the hub plate and locate it in a machined pocket. From my experience in vibration analysis if there is any runout of your yokes it creates axial forces long the shaft which wreck bearings or wear out the sliding shafts. I saw a V10 diesel make like a grenade in a ski lift because of a similar fault with a fluid coupling. That aside, cool project, cant wait to see how it comes together. Always wondered how to shorten a diff housing.
Excellent work. FYI: many universal joint bearing caps are factory ground with a slight taper, being larger at the closed end. It's good practice to always press them outwards to not potentially stretch the yoke bores.

Not like it's going to turn high rpms but I still would've turned som scrap to align that u-joint to disk hub adapter thing. Build looks great so far. Why I enjoy watching these is it proves there are still resourceful people.

Can't wait either. But things take so darn long time to fabricate when filming too. It would take third the time to fabricate if I wasn't filming anything. But then you wouldn't see what I'm doing. 😀
aw yeah angle grinders rule !! and take that abom, don't need shapers or mills. just an angle grinder an old russian lathe and vernier calipers :-) love it !

OH BTW Donn......need to cool the air coming out of the main part of the compressor by adding a A/C condenser and a water trap........then it will all be golden for the plasma cutter and no water build up in the compressor tank.....WIN---WIN!!!!
I work for a steel company with a plasma table that could make parts. Also have access to a lathe,but still prefer to do my home projects totally at home. Cut close to shape with a grinder,bolt multiple identical pieces together,then grind some more. Takes time but I get far more satisfaction from doing it all myself the old way.

It is nice, but we have acquired these tools over more than a decade with my father and grandfather. It wasn't that we woke up in one morning and bought everything at once. So do not get overwhelmed by the tools, you can always have more. 😄
I helped with a stainless steel sculpture a few years back. Three five-meter tall gum leaves. I did 180 meters of tig welding to finish it. We started out using general-purpose gas but then got some pure argon. I didn't notice a difference (still learning ) but then the argon ran out and we went back to the GP gas. I couldn't weld with it. Hated it. We got more argon after that. Lol
I share a lot of your videos with other metal heads. On my toes for next one as I can't marathon these like the saw mill build. As always Donn, love it... they aught to put a button for love on these as they make a cabbage head think
3:37 you should invest in a set of transfer punches. Would make laying out all of those holes a lot easier and they would be dead nuts on. I'm enjoying your project can't wait to see it run.

Don't like welding galvanized steel? It's all right if YA do it out side lots of air .Not sure how you would make out welding with mig out side would blow all your gas away.I have welded lots of it over the years with a ARC welder and 6011 rods .Key point out side .Awsome as always your a talented young man .Love your vidios keep them coming

Станок 1к62 завода Красный Пролетарий 60х годов не убиваемый.Сделан в СССР на века.На работе, то же тружусь на таком.

Таких людей я про то уважаю, которые соблюдают технику безопасности , наушники сам постоянно пользуясь.
А то мастер подойдет, по уху врежет за чистоту посадки под подшипник.

Welds are looking good, nice spray arc. Perhaps pre-heat the casting next time (after placing tacks so you don't have to position a hot piece).
