This may be an unpopular opinion but I have never liked Nikocado Avocado. He just seems too manipulative and creepy for me. I have never watched him and won't do so now. I am happy that he has lost so much weight. It is much healthier for him. Now, hopefully, he will maintain this healthy lifestyle for a brighter future.

I just have to mention this because it bothered me every single time Nikocado touched that bird. The bird is not just "happy to be pet" lmao he's freaking out getting so "excited" because Nik is literally turning the bird on. Stroking their feathers like that is very stimulating and essentially gets them horny and sometimes very frustrated/worked up. For that reason you're really only supposed to "pet" most birds from the neck up. I'm in recovery from an ED. Some days I feel like what's the point of recovery when it feels like society is pushing us all towards disordered eating and extreme weight loss??? All of this weight loss stuff in our faces(ozempic, this weird ass cringey video of his, ) has all been very hard on my 11 year recovery and I imagine I'm not the only one. Even the stuff like this that is... just so stupid. Also, i'm pretty sure he just has an eating disorder and he is using "social experiment" as an excuse to not recover, but i guess with ozempic we can all have EDs now and ppl will keep excusing it.

Within those two years, he was uploading pre-recorded videos.. he fooled people into thinking he was still obese making mukbang videos, and of course viewers were eating it up and making fun of him, while the whole time he was working to lose the weight. Other TH-camrs like Sunnyv2 would post videos on Nick pretty much laughing at him and calling him a disgrace and yet he didn’t have a single clue lol. Meanwhile, the only people who knew he was losing weight was his family, production crew, and his dietitian and fitness coach. And the fact they kept it all a secret is commendable. He gave us a hint in his older video that once he turned 30, he would lose weight. He turned 30 two years ago.

We've been talking for years about how he is trolling us all with his over the top theatrics, making fun of fat Americans and their unhealthy overconsumption issues (food, social media, drama, porn, toxic relationships, etc). I was never into his stuff (noisy, messy eating and screaming), just knew about him from other channels talking about him. The rapid weight gain from hell and then triumphant weight loss arc was predicted. It was commented many times that it looked like he found it harder than he thought to stop overeating and lose all the weight. The only part I was surprised about was the pre-taping of a bunch of videos while he lost the weight. That part was a smart move for maximum impact and audience attention span. I think he underestimated how long it would take to lose weight and recover before surprising everyone, hence the longer than expected disappearance. I hope he keeps the weight off and switches to less harmful content. Maybe he can become a competitive eater who does normal lifestyle vlogs with sensible eating and only the occasional mukbang for training and appeasing his audience. IDK. We'll all find out what comes next soon. Beyond him talking about the social issues he was making fun of by example, I have no idea where he will go next with his content. It would be nice if it went in a more positive direction to prove it was all a social experiment and not just money grab trolling.

I just have to mention this because it bothered me every single time Nikocado touched that bird. The bird is not just "happy to be pet" lmao he's freaking out getting so "excited" because Nik is literally turning the bird on. Stroking their feathers like that is very stimulating and essentially gets them horny and sometimes very frustrated/worked up. For that reason you're really only supposed to "pet" most birds from the neck up. This alone just tells me Nikocado is not as smart as he wants the public to believe because most educated bird owners are aware of this. And while I appreciate his performance, this video did not serve in the way he thought it did. It's giving serial killer, it's giving God complex.

I'm in recovery from an ED. Some days I feel like what's the point of recovery when it feels like society is pushing us all towards disordered eating and extreme weight loss??? All of this weight loss stuff in our faces(ozempic, this weird ass cringey video of his, ) has all been very hard on my 11 year recovery and I imagine I'm not the only one. Even the stuff like this that is... just so stupid. Also, i'm pretty sure he just has an eating disorder and he is using "social experiment" as an excuse to not recover, but i guess with ozempic we can all have EDs now and ppl will keep excusing it.

no i totally agree. diet culture has always been a sickness but it doesn’t seem to be getting any better no matter how much ED is talked about. add ozempic and other weight-loss trends into that conversation and everything has just gone to hell. as someone also in recovery it’s incredibly hard to watch people do things like this to themselves and be celebrated for it. it just continues to promote that unhealthy narrative. at this point i won’t even entertain a conversation with someone if it becomes a discussion on weight or diet. both for personal health reasons and also just because why tf are we even talking about this you guys, let’s all take care of our bodies properly, privately, and move on.

I feel him saying "it feels like a bad dream" is really telling. It wasn't a social experiment but I do think he learned a lot about society through it, I think he ended up in a dark place in life. Food and TH-cam was his coping mechanism, imo, I genuinely hope he is doing better mentally and physically. I hope he opens up to us a bit more about his experiences with food and taking control of his life again, I feel it could help a lot of people who feel stuck in that loop he seemed to be in.
While I agree and I definitely think it could help people I don’t think he’s the right person to be talking about it. Just because he comes across as manipulative to me. The experiment was he started his weight loss journey two years ago. Within those two years, he was uploading pre-recorded videos.. he fooled people into thinking he was still obese making mukbang videos, and of course viewers were eating it up and making fun of him, while the whole time he was working to lose the weight. Other TH-camrs like Sunnyv2 would post videos on Nick pretty much laughing at him and calling him a disgrace and yet he didn’t have a single clue lol. Meanwhile, the only people who knew he was losing weight was his family, production crew, and his dietitian and fitness coach. And the fact they kept it all a secret is commendable. He gave us a hint in his older video that once he turned 30, he would lose weight. He turned 30 two years ago.

I remember that at the time, he had a different, shittier looking panda head that he used in videos immediately after Stephanie called him out which means he bought a new one that is the exact same model as the one mistermangobutt uses. It’s basically like nick is saying “Fuck you. I did nothing wrong and I don’t regret my actions” to Stephanie and all of her viewers because anyone who was a viewer of hers at the same would not believe this bs. No one is thinking about how maybe he pre filmed since the beginning of last year and he just got gastric bypass surgery and was super strict with how he ate (clean/vegan) so he lost even more weight quickly. Then the excess skin removal came after obviously.

But did he really fool us all? We've been talking for years about how he is trolling us all with his over the top theatrics, making fun of fat Americans and their unhealthy overconsumption issues (food, social media, drama, porn, toxic relationships, etc).
I was never into his stuff (noisy, messy eating and screaming), just knew about him from other channels talking about him. The rapid weight gain from hell and then triumphant weight loss arc was predicted. It was commented many times that it looked like he found it harder than he thought to stop overeating and lose all the weight. The only part I was surprised about was the pre-taping of a bunch of videos while he lost the weight. That part was a smart move for maximum impact and audience attention span. I think he underestimated how long it would take to lose weight and recover before surprising everyone, hence the longer than expected disappearance.
I hope he keeps the weight off and switches to less harmful content. Maybe he can become a competitive eater who does normal lifestyle vlogs with sensible eating and only the occasional mukbang for training and appeasing his audience. IDK. We'll all find out what comes next soon. Beyond him talking about the social issues he was making fun of by example, I have no idea where he will go next with his content. It would be nice if it went in a more positive direction to prove it was all a social experiment and not just money grab trolling.

The weight loss is great, and impressive sure (that’s incredibly difficult, I won’t fault him that)…. HOWEVER! Let’s not forget the other stuff he’s done and the absolute shit he’s pulled. And this whole monologue is lowkey unsettling. He’s the villain overseeing our internet ant farm or whatever…. by his own design….. Wild.
