I lost my leg to cancer last year and this podcast has helped me get through the toughest moments so to hear you talk about phantom limb is crazy. So basically ,for example, I was born with two fully functioning legs and my brain was used to controlling them both to walk, run e.t.c when I had my amputation they just removed my lower leg leaving the part of the brain that allowed it to function confused as to why there was nothing there to control. Which sends a pins and needles type sensation ,that feels like a my foot, to where the end of my residual limb is. Great podcast as always love to you all xx

Haha I really loved this… especially the ending. I need friends like this. Just to be comedic when Matt was starting to get a bit down about his grandpa. My dog just died, we had her for 17 years. Everything is so serious right now and I’m glad to just laugh and ease my mind.
My dad is a leg amputee, and he had a pre existing injury before the amputation and he clinically has the worst phantom pains ever. It’s hard to watch him in agony, I couldn’t imagine being in his place. He had the surgery in 2013 and has to go to so much physical and mental therapy to live his life. And ontop of all that you are going through you have to deal with ableist. It’s a whole new world to deal with
I have a suggestion for the word game: how about Jordan gives cards to all 4 hosts but only 1 host gets a word for them to use during the episode(but no one knows who has it). That way not everyone is not soo distracted & stressed about getting all their own words out 😁 love you all 🥰

Below knee amputate listener here. Almost 1 year with out my left foot, and let me tell you I don’t miss it. It took about 2 months to get to being comfortable. Mainly due to getting the staples out and having less limitations. Surgery was in October 2021 and I started walking in January 2022. 🙌🏼
