I have read and watched videos on how to build my own rails API, it was hard to understand until I watched this and the fact that this video was released 5 years ago still amazed me, thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial with a clear explanation
Oliver, please don't stop like Ryan Bates. We are really need this screencasts, I will subscribe tomorrow to GoRails. Thank you for your videos, it's inspires!
Thanks Talga! The subscriptions and community are what keep it going. It can be hard sometimes because you miss out on building complex stuff when you're making screencasts since they have to be simpler examples often, but I'll survive. I think what will help is building some projects related to GoRails that aren't just screencasts. I've got one in the works that I'll be announcing in the next month or so. :D
@@GorailsTV Chris, I just got a pro job with Rails with a firm, I must say that I would not reach that without you! Thanks brother, you earned a little piece of heaven with that, I am sure! You will know about me soon in GoRails (as soon as I can pay it) 😺 thank you and please, keep teaching, you are unique! 😺
Do you gave to be a intermediate or advanced rails developer to be able to make or implement APIs. Im a beginner and i would really like to know more about APIs and how to consume them through reactjs. Thanks
Definitely don't have to, you'd just want to make sure you understood the security around it so you know that you're only allowing people to use it who are supposed to.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can stream all of the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf during the lockdown xD

thank you so much for taking the time to make this!
Crisp and clear. 🙌
It will be cool if you show how to make documentation for REST API in these series
Great video. I've been looking for a week for something like this!
Thanks a lot for the tutorial... Looking good, was about to ask about authentication but you did mention it in the very end. Looking forward.
Can you do a video on Grape gem for APIs , with authentication preferably
What about setting CORS properly?
Great suggestion, adding this one to my list. We'll almost certainly use the rack-cors gem for this.

It's sure a good reminder to be productive. :)
Thanks :)
Or to enjoy life!
Chris, can you cover pagination in JSON API too?
Yes, definitely. I almost forgot that one, but pagination is a huge piece of APIs.
Awesome Thanks :)
Thanks for sharing Chris!
Great video but why the hell are you using VIM as a main text editor
Because vim is the best, duh!
Who know how to set the Vim like Gorails one? tell me, please!
Tony, I believe I covered that in this episode: gorails.com/episodes/my-development-environment-for-ruby-on-rails 👍
