Oh yea just doing it like Mokko no measure is crazy, I just do 2x water to 1x rice, for 20min on one of the lowest settings, depending on what rice ofc. If I don't measure I will have rice soup or break my teeth 😂

Made some Jackfruit Stew with Rice & Peas from watching Mokko, and reading a few recipes for their seasoning, and it came out amazing. I've made many a West African recipes but never Jackfruit Stew. I love Caribbean and West African food.
We do the same thing here in South west coast of India (you find jackfruit in abundance here) ! Just apply coconut oil on your palms and you are all set! 😅😅And that pink Catharanthus flower @14:03 , a pretty common sighting here too man. 😅

To my understanding, Rastafarians were influenced by the South Asian vegetarianism ( introduced by Indian indentured laborers who ended in the Caribbean) hundreds of years ago. They introduced rice, tamarind, curry and some of the wonderful spices found in the Jamaican food.

I love ripe jackfruit. We'd be walking on the road, and from its overpowering smell; yes there was a ripe one somewhere. I lived in JAMAICA for a long time, but this is the first time I'm seeing it being cooked. Awesome! The little doves on the ground, we'd call them ground doves. Seen I-ah. More time. Thanks bunches.
