You should also follow coding with nobody
Totally, and his Android news is much better than google IO - much more practical and much more understandable and implementable
Agreed! Android Dev is such a niche field.
Good to know that, because I'm just started my Android Dev journey 😀
SUMMARY OF THE VIDEO
In this video, Philipp Lackner covers the important changes for Android developers in March 2024. Here are some of the key topics covered in the video:
* New Android Studio features:
* Fused orientation provider API: This new API simplifies the process of getting the orientation of the device.
* Improved crashlytic integration: Android Studio now allows you to inspect crashes directly in the IDE and see the exact line of code that caused the crash.
* UI check mode for Compose Preview: This tool helps you identify potential issues with your composable UIs by running them on different screen sizes and font scalings.
* Progressive rendering for Compose Preview: This feature improves the performance of the Compose Preview by only rendering the parts of the UI that are currently visible.
* Baseline profile wizard: This wizard simplifies the process of creating baseline profiles, which can improve the startup performance of your apps.
* New emulators for Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 devices: These emulators allow you to test your apps on the latest Pixel devices without needing a physical device.
* Version catalogs as the default: Version catalogs are now the default way to manage dependencies in new Android Studio projects.
* Android 15 developer preview 2: This preview includes new features such as a UI for satellite communication, improved NFC support, the ability for apps to detect screen recording, an API for detecting how the app was started (cold, warm, or hot), and a new way to regulate the loudness of apps.
* Compose Multiplatform 1.6.0: This new version of Compose Multiplatform includes a common resource API, a common API for UI testing, improvements to iOS accessibility, support for previewing composable code in Android Studio, and the ability for dialogs and popups to exceed the bounds of their parent composable.
LOVE FROM INDIA ❤🔥
thanks a lot bro
I really like your hard work as an android developer I appreciate you
Lot's of love for you Philipps. I am a senior android developer and yet I find a lot of useful things in your videos. Good job bro 👍
Cause he is the King of Jetpack compose and kotlin
You are so great. Giving every bit of information
Thanks for the update!
I would really like to see hot reload for compose, just like flutter. Oh man, that would be awesome
it's already there
As always, we look forward to your ability to create a video for building a small social networking application, and I believe I will continue to add your channel! I have learned your previous social apps🥰
Thanks for that Phillipp! Nice videos as always!
I would say I really like the one where you can now test the UI on multiple devices, and it shows suggestion, Second I would say the screen recorder is identified from the app is great update
thanks a lot man
as beginner , i dont even know what is compose preview
Can you make a videos on where to find a dependency for all puggins
I'm writing a Compose multiplatform application and the preview doesn't work in Android Studio, even in Canary versions.
Does your Xcode emulator work?
@@isaactemp1556 Yes. iOS 15.2 is launching.
The preview for common code only works in fleet, if its for compose for desktop only then it will work in android studio
You can work around it by calling the preview in the platform specific directory and leaving it open in a separate tab, while working on the composable in the common directory.
@@virage3773I have the same problem, but this way I couldn’t use it because I have strings in multiple languages and images. It presents an error as it did not exist
When you will do a full project with all of this updates, or at least a big project with Android Studio Iguana environment?

I also have iPhone but i work as a Android Dev 😅

Good stuff
Your videos and content have improved a lot within half a year! I really like your content
great video
Version Catalogues 🤮 Just another file you have to mess with in addition to the Gradle file. The rest - great. I agree about Fleet. I tried it a month ago and it's really not usable for any serious development work. Maybe in a year from now - but I'd rather JetBrains put their effort into KMP as that's where the important changes for Devs are. I hope they are going to make the Resources such that you can have sub-folders. It doesn't seem to be the case right now and my shared Resources now has about 100 files in it - not great when you expand it in the AS project pane. 🤪
Any thoughts on when compose for web will get to at least beta?
Since updating to iguana i cant use a cable for physical device
How can black on white be insufficient in contrast?
Hi Philip, I can't find your upwork profile
Hey Sir can I get your mentorship program I have filled the form
What, Iguana got stable now!, I am currently using koala 😂😂
Who like in hindi also like it. 🎉
thank you bro

Just downloaded android studio iguana ... New here... Downloaded everything asked and more just incase ... Still seeing build.gradle.kts unresolved reference libs. Was told it was bad network to keep trying to sync Gradle but no difference for few days now... Haven't even gotten to the haxm part in AS setup please help
Ask GPT
Hey Philipp, can you please make one detailed video on compose multi-platform, using the latest techniques, including all the new Android ViewModel best practices, starting from scratch?
would be really great if you could do this.
Thanks in advance!
What app is this? What tutorial did you build it in?
