Such a joy to see Klaus Mäkelä conduct such a wonderful, epic piece with such a great orchestra! Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with the world!
The depth and intensity of Mahler's 3rd Symphony is beautifully captured in this performance. Klaus Mäkelä and the Oslo Philharmonic truly do justice to this masterpiece. It's a treat for the ears and soul.
Wow. Great performance. That's what's so great about Mahler, you can let rip his forces at the right time to ear swelling effect. Great composer to see live..
Great group of players. So many with animated faces, like the principal cellist. Just has to be the greatest performance ever of this piece of music. Just when you'd think that classical music is dying out. Video work? The best, didn't miss a soloist or group. 8 French horns? Fantastic. Nov. 1, 2023. St.joseph, MO, USA
Thank you so much for uploading this! Klaus Mäkelä is by far my favorite conductor and in combination with the Oslo Philharmonic it's always incredibly good. Plus, Mahler is my favorite composer and his third symphony is one of my favorite works ever! I'm really hoping for more videos/recordings with Mäkelä here on yt :))
While I do think this is a fantastic performance and ferocious interpretation, I do wish Klaus would give just a little more line and inner motion to the more intimate scenes. There is so much wave-like orchestration in this symphony and I only wish they were brought more so as to make the ferocious moments even more justified and dramatic, rather than sudden
Pan is a far more complex character than playful and mischievous. He is also portrayed in mythology as violent, sexually indiscriminate, a great deceiver, and so much more. Besides, Mahler ultimately withdrew his programmatic description and let the symphony stand as absolute music. 😎🎹
Another over rated young conductor promoted to high posts and undeserved acclaim. He should be honing his skills in the provences rather than exposing his weaknesses with the great orchestras.
Although I totally disagree with your opinion about Klaus Makela I respect your right to your personal opinion. I can’t believe someone tried to interject their obvious political bias. How could this be political? Unbelievable!
Many years ago, conductors learned their craft in local opera houses and orchestras. The greats like Toscanini, Walter, Szell, Reiner, von Karajan, to name just 5 did just that. Arguably the greatest Mahler conductor of all, Leonard Bernstein earned his shot at the NY Philharmonic. Things have changed, but not necessarily for the better.
I have been critical of this conductor in past postings, but I'll admit this is a wonderful realisation of the music.
你們對盛大作品的詮釋,無論是西貝流士或馬勒的,風格中有嶄新的音樂元素流動,會讓欣賞者產生無限的好奇心,謝謝Kilauea,謝謝所有Oslo的團員們。❤❤❤❤❤❤

Wow! Klaus Mäkelä si jeune et si talentueux!!! bravo!!!
That's my band tearin' the roof down! ❤ Oh, Klaus, you rock the house better than ever. Stellar work. I love these musicians.
It's a pleasure to see/hear a stage filled with such engaged and musical musicians conducted by a conductor who emotes so well! Bravi!
The music of Mahler. There is no other music quite like his.
Flawless execution from the Oslo Philharmonic, greetings from Mexico.
Dear Klaus and great Oslo Philharmonics! Simply wonderful!
Absolutely riveting! Thank you.
Wonderful. Please release the video of the whole concert soon. Thanks.

Excitement level 1:41

Once, a conductor lived with Mahler a whole life. That's what makes the Big Klaus (Tennstedt) so great, especially in the Third.
I want to hear all the movements. When can I hear it? (from japan)
The rest is coming. Stay tuned :)
i thought mahlers symphonies are long. this one is really nice and short
Short??? The third is his longest symphony.
@@carpo3745 i read the title and it says 3rd symphony. they lied :( its only the 1st mov.
now i know they all fucking long
@@jebeeybepeey7825 Yes i supposed that. Try the rest, it's worth it!
There are five more movements to follow this.
Where is the remainder of the work?
2:47 When your lesson's up but you haven't practiced.
Why do you show this 1 piece of music separately by movements? The composer's original attention is to show it wholly.
This is a good performance, but there are some that are substantially better. He has a lot to learn, but he will be a good one.
First.
Also also, ist das bild nicht viel zu nervös ??
Too overpowering. Pan is a playful, mischievous, swaggering figure, not a violent, stormy one.

Why are you always posting truncated old material>?

After reading your comment I knew you would be a far right conservative, and after checking your profile I find, of course, I was correct.
Leaving aside your strange opinion, you probably meant ‘provinces’.

@@dudeforcaster8630Politics is irrelevant in this. Use your ears and you will agree.
