(Part 5) Riding The Iron Ore Train in Mauritania: A Thrilling Overnight Travel Adventure.

Riding the iron ore train is once in a life time travel experience in Mauritania. There are different lengths of Iron ore train and the train that we rode was 3 km. in length, 200 wagons and each carry 84 tons of iron ore. This train transports Iron ore from Zouarate to #Nouadhibou port then ship to different countries.
The operating speed is 37 mph when it is loaded. We startes in #Zouarate at 1500 hrs and arrive in Nouadhibou at 1100 hrs the following day. In total we travelled 19 hours.
It was very dusty, and freezing cold at night time however stargazing was great.
