Sorry for the wait with this episode! As you probably know, Crusoe had an injury to his back (IVDD) upon our return that caused him to not be able to walk, so he had to go for back surgery once again...
In this episode, we continue where we left off in beautiful #Arizona where the #dogs embark on a hike through the Sedona mountains. But as Daphne leads the humans and the #dachshunds, she ends up getting us all lost in the middle of the hot desert. How will the pups get out? Will that be the end?!
We continue our trip down to Tucson, another hot desert. They explore their Airbnb rental and visit some of the sights and things to do around Arizona, including the infamous town of Tombstone, where the dogs put on their best cowboy outfits for a quick little skit.
See the end of this video for an update on Crusoe and his back surgery progress. Unfortunately IVDD affects a lot of dachshunds and it's twice now Crusoe has gone through surgery. Thankfully he is doing well, but we're still be very careful.

I really enjoyed this episode for a number of reasons : I have friends in Arizona and got a nice look at the terrain in which they live ; Loved the Tombstone section and the western outfits are a hoot ; Most importantly, like Crusoe, a few months back, I suffered a devastating illness / injury which resulted in my losing a foot and after rehabbing and such had to learn how to walk all over again with the use of a prosthesis, which is an ever-evolving process. To see him recover and be much like his old self not only makes me smile, but offers me inspiration to keep improving in my own battle with regaining mobility. Wishing all of you all the BEST !!!

So happy to see Crusoe recovering. I know from personal experience how difficult it is when your beloved doxie struggles with serious health issues. My sweet Flash lived to the age of 14 before finally succoming to his health issues in 2020.
We lost our sweet beloved doxie Greta in 2015 and still miss her terribly. We are all blessed when loved unconditionally by a fur baby. She was my soulmate. Keep ballin Crusoe !

I had no doubt that Crusoe would recover with all the love and care he would get from his mum and dad. I am so glad to see how far he's come and love the video in my home state of Arizona. Just remember, it's dry heat. Love you guys.

Really love both of your dogs. Was thinking of getting a Doxie dog but after all the back problems, surgerys and I have heard they are hard to housebreak, I don't know if I would be a good doxie mom. I've been single most of my life and always had borders, german shepherds, aussies, doberman, poodles and doodles, before they were a thing. Now at 70, healthy and financially ok, I would like to have a good dog that won't break my bank. What breed of dog, would Crusoe and Daphanie's Fan Club recommend? Thanks for your replys in advance.

Such a fun trip! I live in Vail, just east of Tucson and have visited Saguaro National Monument many times. The desert has its own beauty and seeing all of those saguaros is pretty cool. We've had lots of rain this monsoon season, so everything is pretty green now. It's sizzling hot, but we are almost into fall which is my favorite time of year here. We have a few hot months, but the rest of the year is great! Thank you for visiting Sizona! I'm so happy to see Crusoe doing so well!

I’m so glad he’s okay, I have a wiener dog too, and it broke my heart seeing crusoe not being able to walk in the start of his rehabilitation, I feel extremely relieved to know he’s doing much better now, keep going strong and take as much time as you need, we got you!!!
