    Seen these guys live three times. They're like a fucking drug, just can't get enough. Best live act ever, no arguments. People are hating on the Catharsis album, I think it's epic. These guys won't be around forever, savour the time they'll take to tour for their fans, three hour sets and a genuine love for their fans. Rare to see these days. MACHINE FUCKIN' 'EAD!!!

    As a long term MH fan (since 94' and counting) I can't believe there are so many cry-baby comments from TRVE METHVVL warriors who cannot deal with musical variety and experimentation. You don't like this? Fine, listen to something else. It's not bad just different. In fact it's a great track. I personally would rather listen to this than 'Who we are' for example which for me wasn't a successful experiment by the band 'Is there anybody out there' too. I love Machine Head and always will. I might not always love everything they do but they remain, for me, one of the greatest bands of all time.

    • @Admiral_Bongo
      @Admiral_Bongo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I don't hear any sort of experimentation here. On the contrary, this is radio-friendly as hell. And the part of the album that isn't as radio-friendly has Robb trying to be hard vocally and lyrically beyond the threshold of cringe.
      Put simple, it's not the change in style itself that bugs the people, it's the quality of that change.

    • @Maddog12579
      @Maddog12579 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mate they've gone backwards in a massive way it's so cringey now this band I held above metallica at one stage now my skin just crawls everything from his vocals to their playing now just sucks balls if ever a band never stayed true to them selves this is it. Robb is just a whiny childish bitch

      technically Oakland California.
      Both cities are kinda rivals here in Cali. Lol
      But Robb grew up in Fremont, then lived in Martinez for a bit until moving to his current location.
      They have their studio they use in Oakland.
      But now Dave and Phil are gone.
      Phil lives in Dublin. Great guy.

      Michael Rogers dude it's badass

    • @ctgslayer
      @ctgslayer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Michael Rogers this is very FFDP esque. For one, the melodic cleans are right out of FFDP camp, so is the lyrical content. It’s a song FFDP would write, and Machine Head used to be better than that. Just check out Do or Die, it’s the same kind of “Fuck you haters I’m a rockstar,” song that would come out of “Got your Six”. It’s bad, and from the same band that gave us songs like “Halo” and “A Farewell to Arms” I expect much better.

    • @nukadirtbag9373
      @nukadirtbag9373 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ctgslayer Neither cleans nor "fuck the haters" stuff is FFDP's camp. Melodic cleans have been in metal since like Day 1 with Ozzy fronting Black Sabbath and the "fuck the haters" lyrics were a defining trait of Pantera with hits like Walk and 5 Minutes Alone. MH and FFDP draw water from the same well, both being clearly influenced by the groove metal boom Pantera ushered in, but its clear FFDP mixed their style with the hard rock that was popular at their inception (Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace) while (post Supercharger) MH looks to thrash metal, both classic and the revival movement, for its inspiration.
      Tl:dr, MH was doing this stuff before FFDP was even conceived

    • @ctgslayer
      @ctgslayer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Sheen this MH resembles metalcore more than any thrash metal. Also, fuck haters is absolutely a FFDP attitude. Just because they didn’t invent it does not mean it’s not their camp and that a lot of their songs aren’t about haters (because they are). Also, this specific type of melodic clean in this song sounds as though it could be from a FFDP album. That’s what I’m saying. I am not referring to every melodic clean ever conceived by a metal band. No, FFDP did not create melodic cleans nor did Machine Head. This specific melodic clean, however, sounds like FFDP and so does the attitude of Machine Head’s newer music (specifically “Do or Die).

    I don't really understand the hate on this song/album. Yes, it's not old Machine Head or whatever, but it still has tons of quality. I like this song and I personally enjoy when bands evolve and try new stuff, even if it's just for one album or one song. I look at this particular album in that way: they were trying something new. Just because it's different, doesn't mean it's bad. You might not like it, and that's okay, but being very offensive in your critics is just ridiculous. Nevertheless, great song \m/

    MH.. Listening to you guys, jumping like a mad man around my living room with my speakers blowing up with the words.. "burn my fist to the concrete, my fear is my strength"... "like a ten ton hammer son".. "bulldozer crushes all".. "give me the will to fight every obstacle that I have inside". I've had to rage against this anxiety and depression crawling through my veins for nearly 25 years.. and you guys have been right there with me all the way helping me find the strength to keep fighting it. You guys have been part of my catharsis and I can't thank you enough for busting your asses and sticking with it all these years. Nice work gentlemen.. nice work!

    Wow this song has really split people. Either people love it or loads of winey bastards moaning where’s the heavy Burn My Eyes days stuff.
    Rob had repeatedly said this album wasn’t going to be that heavy. No idea why so many people are surprised that it’s still not. Most melodic yet was his words as well.
    Blackening my fav album, but absolutely loving this. Just like Rob said Burning Read style with Blackening production. Can’t wait for the album now!!

    • @RobertGraefeMusic
      @RobertGraefeMusic 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      92dunbar, I agree, after listening to this song I can't wait for the album. To me personally, the fragile moments in Machine Head songs is what is making it so heavy once it explodes again. They have done such build ups on Through the Ashes and The Blackening - and I feel like this song has a lot of these moments and I love it.

    • @Omega-fb9ji

      No a lot of people are just trolling. They are hating on it not because of music but because of Robb political views.

    • @Shake69ification
      @Shake69ification 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +Robert Graefe, exactly, dude! That's pretty much what I was coming here to say. It's not always easy to make a great song that rocks out hard from start to finish, and the softer moments serve as a nice setup to the heavier parts. The contrast between the parts make it seem even heavier when it hits.

    • @axlej11
      @axlej11 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      92dunbar Couldn’t have said it better. I enjoy every one of their albums excluding super charger, a few songs on it are ok, bulldozer is awesome imo. This song reminds me a lot of Ashes, Bloodstone, and The Burning Red. I like it. It’s growing on me more with each listen.

    People are whiny because they need music sounding like full in their face all the time. As much as I love "full in the face" music I think people who declines any kid of softer approaches are sad individuals. This song anyway still holds a good balance between the soft melodic and the hard in your face parts. So none of both have to complain I think.
    Music is emotions. Anger and hate are not the only emotions in the world.

    Upon my initial listen I wasn't too impressed but after around 20 listens or so, I'm really liking this. The chrous alone is what kept me coming back and giving it more listens. I appreciate the beauty of this song and can relate to it in a sense. I think we as MH fans tend to just want the same formula over and over and want BME or The Blackening Part Duece but how boring would that be!? I respect and am liking this new direction they are going in. I think the rest of the album will give us Metal Junkies our fix of the heaviness.

    Hey guys, we still have the rest of the album to go...

      What was your review based on how did u get the .1? What did they do to get that extra .1? And what stopped it from getting a 6.3? Or 6.4? What could they have done for simply a 6?

    • @Tutankamion196
      @Tutankamion196 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +NinjaGamer9
      The song isn't bad but it's not great either. The score 6.1 means:
      6 - It's quite unpolished; they could've made it more heavier (like BTP), instead we get some kinda dull opening riff. In other words, it doesn't explode like it should.
      1 - The closing chorus (and the chorus overall) is what I liked about the whole song.
      It's a chorus I can sing to with joy.
      (These are just my opinions. I'm not complaining nor bashing the name of f**king Machine Head).
      I hope they succeed even more in the future. \m/
