I tried Frost Invasion solo. I was not familiar with Outpost 32, and died at Wave 15 (So close...). Had to camp at the back because yes. But then the annoying speedsters occurred. Engineer and Elementalist will be best friends... Bonus: If you use Pyromancer/Cryomancer, treat it like an Engineer.
I thought it had 20 waves, so I attempted to max out as soon as possible. Should have probably pulled the good old Badlands II drill But I think I'll attempt as Team next round.

It can also deal damage to balloons when using the heatwave ability, which insanely good, you don’t have to bring any of mortar and ranger, this tower will do the job, I like it.
elementalist is kind of A+ for me, heck maybe even S-. because its the only support tower with decent damage (next to electroshocker), the heatwave doesnt have any limit of how many targets it can hit, plus you can use both abilities after each other (ex. you plant an ice turret somewhere and then use the heatwave afterwards, eliminating both crowds and stalling the bigger threats). another thing, the turrets can freeze enemies themselves, and its seriously good. but the heatwave damage is a scam, because its not instant damage but rather damage over time (unless its bugged).
You actually dont need to worry about the two different abilities They dont share a cooldown, both being a seperate cooldowns, and can both be used at the same time via switching modes Heatwave being on a 40 second cooldown and Turret being on a 45-50 second cooldown (idk the exact number)

to be honest then that would make it very good in loadouts that have engineer or accel as neither of those towers fully benefit from support towers either. Also yeah they reverted the fire and ice stuff a while back. Since it cant fully freeze enemies it might pair well with cyro mancer since it'll stack chill faster for extra freezing.

This event was bad but not nearly as bad as the Halloween event I actually enjoyed it somewhat but the towers for events are getting worse and worse like compare them to TDX’s event towers and you’ll see what I mean

Played it today and found out that it has a trick. During ice mode if u place down a turret then immediately switch to fire , u could still use heatwave which Is quite convenient, to knock back enemy for others and the turret to shoot , sadly this doesn’t work the opposite way ( heatwave change to ice then turret is untrue cuz it’ll put the ability on CD ) gud trick u could use to fully utilize both elements abilities

Wow I love better toxic gunner, not like toxic gunner was one my favourite tower and was hoping it would get buffed or anything
so now there is a reason why we should expect something new about toxic gunner rework
So cryomancer gets an 85% slow at max + aoe, but toxic gunner only gets 25% and single target. Very fair
So its basidally jester, engineer, lvl 4-5 pursuit, and a red track dj all in one
