Yup. This is really TNA in a nutshell. The best gimmick they have is a guy named "Shark Boy" that has to try and mimmick a wrestler who is actually entertaining.
I went to see TNA live a couple of times and especially the second time, it was brilliant. I have never known a 4 hour show fly by so fast. Mr Anderson even came out to the stands so we could see him. And he wasn't even wrestling.

Still... having someone play thrift store Stone Cold (even as a joke) is kinda cringy imo. Could just be the way this specific wrestler is doing it. Doesn't really land the joke when it goes on and on. As a few weeks-long storyline act maybe but not the wrestler's whole gimmick. Maybe if the dude went from starting as Stone Cold then periodically switched out to other well known characters in the industry like he was insane and believed he was this guy, then this guy, etc. That might work. He could even get a bump on the head and switch to another personality mid-match. That could be funny/interesting. Again... my opinion.

When he woke up he could speak after not speaking for years but could only speak in Stone Cold catchphrases. So they got around the name dispute by calling him Stone Cold Shark Boy. It was great & silly.
He has adapted each and every mannerisms of stone cold, from his way of talking, to his body language, just everything!! But, I personally think that he should have been innovative enough to develop his own character, with his own style!! Just copying someone like this, doesn't make much sense, really..
He had his own character for years & was really dynamic as a character for not saying a word. He had a legal dispute with Miramax over the use of the name Shark Boy for their movie Shark Boy & Lava Girl which he had previously trademarked. So he settled out of court for 200k & was written off tv as having been in a coma. When he woke up from his coma he started talking after being silent but could only talk like Stone Cold Steve Austin which is based of an impression he’d do for fun back stage. So they called him Stone Cold Shark Boy to get around the dispute.
