That nib thing on them aav’s is another one of things that must have seemed like a great idea when they manufactured the boiler and wrote the book but in real life Never Works!! EVER
Typical wb rubbish, little tip .... when draining put the boiler in service mode then flick power off , it drains better as divertor is in mid position , says on big sticker on pcb that nobody reads including me till one day i did read it 😊

I allways use a small wire brush to remove alot of crap around the airvent.
