Would you teach some of the progressions from your jam sessions with students? Similar to the 3 levels of practice style. I can usually figure out the chord progressions simply by watching, but the variations and embellishments you and your students use in your chords to make them sound less repetitious and mundane is something I would like to add to my playing. Thanks Tomo!
I often ask about "jam" most students are not really prepare what songs to play. Jam is also you can prepare a lot. We all prepare from the past, good or bad, experiences, mistakes... You basically played a nice jazzy solo on top of the changes. there's no such thing as "City pop soloing" just a buzzword for viewers... some guitarists are more melody emphasized, like Takanaka... some are more jazzy in the vein you played such as Issei Noro. In between is Larry Carlton or Rit! I understand "city pop" is a fashionable term today and every kid has access to japanese stuff which is cool, but it is what it is.
i asked the same question on your other vid, but in this one you play the chord in question more than once, so i thought it'd be more appropriate to ask here: what chord did you play @ 2:32 and 2:41?

That a Lydian b7 over 7th chord. So Melodic minor family.
2nd one is diminished arpeggios over 7th (b9)
So if you don't know chord progression, you cannot play like this.

I teach how to play and I don't use any tabs or diagrams but I tell all the strings/fret numbers & each intervals. Without those intervals ...
