Yeah, I love MK11's Menu Music, sounds so much EPIC and all. Mortal Kombat 1's Menu Music sounds very good, but MK11's sounds more catchy and memorable.
Too bad this menu is gone now. I wanted to record my own ambiance without the music. This shit was tranquil. I hope we see it again. But something tells me we aren't getting it back.
NRS is stupid, they have Dan Forden who is capable to producing memorable authentic Chinese music like he did in MK1/2 but no let's hire somebody to do the most generic Chinese music you can hear.
sad to see them use the same old boring NRS music. people saying it sounds cool now but we all know we're gonna be playing on mute within the first month
Speak for yourself lmao I've been obsessed with MK11's soundtrack because the MK series finally got a proper OST for the first time with actual leitmotifs and storytelling through music. Dan Forden's music is iconic for sure but it doesn't actually serve as a soundtrack fit for a visual narrative with actual storytelling. Forden only did stage tracks, which were fitting for the arcade style of a non-changing location, something like that doesn't work in a visual cinematic storyline in the style of most AAA games nowadays. While MK11 actually introduced a proper cinematic soundtrack for the first time, MK1 actually seems to lean heavily into the Feudal roots of Mortal Kombat as it was intended in 1992. I'm genuinely excited to see what Will Roget (MK11's composer) cooked for this one
I like that the entirety of the Mortal Kombat series has a gloomy/dark background, and Mortal Kombat 1 has a peaceful and bright background, just like Liu Kang envisioned.
i noticed that too it’s such a great detail
Ironically it mirrors the original. Since the original had really bright backgrounds and the menu theme was still chaotic but it had a sense comfort.
6:05
Ah the bliss of this playing as I roll in the fucking shrine getting nothing but art.
6:05 was surprisingly the best part of the soundtrack
I be vibing out to this whenever it comes in while selecting a fighter

There are some Chinese instruments in this as well.
Yeah. I love it over mk11 definitely
@@Kwang-mt7omthe Chinese instruments are my favorite part tbh. Gives me Shaw Bros vibes.
@@Dtzeo503I highly recommend you look up Guzheng. It's the Chinese instrument used in this

I can't believe people don't like this
Anything thats after 0:50(besides 6:05)I dont like. Just sounds generic
Gonna be honest, I know techno was all the rage in the 90s, but MK is forever linked to it.
No. MK games never had techno, only movies and those weird "soundtracks INSPIRED by games".
I’d argue MK is more linked to industrial rock and nu metal
@@SOBEKCrocodileGod And almost none of the genres were present in the games.

I think the techno would be more enjoyable to listen to than this.
MK has been techno, metal, rap, hip hop, instrumental.... I'm sure it can be pretty much anything it wants to be.
6:04 Love it..
4:39 to 4:49 reminds me of the Goro’s Lair Theme.
30 years later MK1 & II still have the best soundtracks.
And MK3, especially the Subway stage theme🔥
And also the 3D era trilogy (Deadly-Alliance & Deception & Armageddon) as well and while there underrated they also have killer soundtracks as well don't forget.
The whole trilogy man! Honestly up to MK VS DC everything was unique and epic. Not sure what happened after that
@@q.h.s5051 Indeed and now that you're mentioning it, Midway closed after Mk vs Dc and then WB games took over. Probably that's why.
I really like that 9:20 sounds like the first 12 seconds in Halo 3’s Farthest Outpost 👏🏻
Can't find this part in bruskpoet's video
Music that actually fits the story of MK. Love it

Every once in a while we get gold in modern MK music
Thank you for this!!
That's all that needs to be said. 😊
MK11 still has the best menu music to me and I don't think that masterpiece will ever be topped, but this is also really epic in its own right!

Heavily reminds me of MKA music (MKA Konquest music and some arenas).

This is not a "generic Chinese music".
MK Deception Konquest Mode soundtrack was relaxing when you’re in Earthrealm and Edenia.
@@ShadowSumac it's too generic you can slap it on with a Dynssty Warriors image and it will pass.

Mid tbh. Still sounds DCish. EDIT, gets better the more I listened to it. Judged too soon.

This comment is stupid
Nrs games seriously don't know about the importance of music. Their games lack the personality the previous games had because of the generic music.
While this is better than MK10 and 11, this is seriously not it. How does this sound like Mortal Kombat? Where's Dan Forden??
It reminds heavily of 3D MK games. Which is good, since IMO they had some of the best fighting games music.
@@ShadowSumac really? The 3d era is my favorite by far in terms of music, atmosphere, aesthetic, and lore and thia is a 180 imo.

MK1 has new main menu music. Check it out
Mortal Kombat 1 has a truly amazing and spectacular soundtrack imho. It really surprised me when I've watched the story only. Such a good game.
