Not had that Michter's celebration but I've had 3 different Michter's 20 year old and they are probably the best bourbons I've had. And I didn't pay a cent to taste them. Even got a second pour of the 2021 to take out on the deck with a cigar. I would def rate them above the one bottle of George T Stagg I got in a lottery about 5 years ago. Best bottle I've owned was the Kentucky Owl rye batch 01. Freaking amazing. I've got 3 Blantons that I've bought over the years at close to MSRP. I think it's time to open one for my birthday next weekend.
I hate having to do most of my shopping at specs. I live in Central Texas and the closest big town is Btyan/ College Station. They hardly ever have anything. My mom and pop shop I visit occasionally has eagle rare. So almost everything is a bucket list
whiskey tube really been crapping on Blantons but I've had it a few times and it's not bad at all.i will say there can be a good deal of variation but i haven't had a bottle i would call bad.
I think it’s because folks are really looking for it and when I see it in NE Florida, they’re charging $200 for a $60 or $65 bottle. I believe the whiskey tube folks are just trying to keep taters or unknowing friends or family for paying way too much and being taken.

I’ve got one of those 15 year knob creeks and you absolutely right. Paid like $80-$90 for it and it’s amongst my favorites. Just kinda sucks i won’t find it again. Love the channel, big guy. Top 2/3 whiskey channels i don’t miss a new video of.

Hi David, I love bourbon but the variety available in South Africa is limited. So whenever someone I know is going to the USA I asked them to get me a bourbon or 2. Anyway the reason for this comment is about the pricing of Blanton's. Locally the single barrel sells for about $42 and the gold for $65. I would gladly swap Blanton's for Knob Creek 12 /15 .

VW 12 and Pappy 15 are by far the best of the VW series. Was at a bar in NYC that had them all, the bartender was really cool and let my brother and I try a taste of all of them. Yes, he got a very good tip.
What are the best oak forward bourbon. I have tried Elijah Craig,makers mark, Wild turkey 101 and knob creek 9. Are there any other bourbons you would recommend thanks Andrew
Frey Ranch is pretty oak foward, especially if you can find a Barrel Proof version. Also, Remus V is really rich oak. Or any ECBP you can find will have some nice oakeyness.
Great show! I'll have to try the Fourgate Rum finished Kentucky bourbon. That hadn't even crossed my list. Personally, I really like the Wood Finished Series from Maker's Mark. I have the FAE-01 and FAE-02 and both are phenomenal.
@@morganrhom704 I liked the FAE-02 best but both were great. Every time that I've had them, I've actually drank them back-to-back. I thought the FAE-01 was a little more "woody" and the FAE-02 was a little more "fruity". I wish I had bought more than a bottle of each. I'm looking forward to the next wood finished in the series.

Best bourbon I ever had by far (and I've had all the BTACs, Pappy 15, etc.) was Four Roses Al Young. All the 4R LEs are great, but the AL Young release was simply amazing. Happy I got a bottle (empty now), wish I could get another at retail.
I tend to agree on Blanton’s. It’s a fine bourbon, great pour. I see it being sold for about $60 here in Pennsylvania. BUT, I think it’s overhyped. That said, it’s a must have for any collection.

It’s a good bourbon. I’ll gran a bottle when i see one at retail for gifting or to share. But it isn’t “scour the earth and break your wallet” worthy
Agreed. I have a store pick from Nevada that's really good, better than Weller SiB or Kosher Rye Recipe for sure.

If you can find Blantons for 60 bucks, it's the best. I have some good ones. But for 60 bucks - blantons is gonna be hard to beat.

Just found Blantons for $64 at Total Wine in Tucson. I haven't had it for over 15 years. It was OK then and it is just OK now.

If you love oak, then Sam Houston 15 and Knob 15 might be your jam. Have also had some Russell's SBs that were pretty oakey as well.
