I like it! Well, I'd like it you'd use more often, as well as some of other Masters that have been kicking my butt the last few years. I might be able to keep up with you using my traditional iron sights then. Wait a minute... it doesn't come with a matching front sight? Or at least make a more specific suggestion about what height front sight to get from Dawon. Accuracy at 5 yards. Even I don't use the sights at 5 yards to get zeros. As for comparing it to an RDS? This A.I.M. thing still requires the shooter to align the eye, the A.I.M. gizmo, the front sight and the target to be accurate. With an RDS, all that I need to do is put the dot on the target - 3 things to line up. Last but not least. . . I can't imagine using this thing in low light. Thanks for the detailed review.
I commented on their page saying this is a huge step backwards and they replied “it’s more accurate than a red dot and will never run out of batteries” what a dumb reply to something that requires changing a battery every 50,000 hrs.
Thanks. I use iron sights except for one Red Dot for longer ranges. I shoot fine with irons if I keep up with shooting. I was considering this but not now for $200 and likely no better or worse than irons. I use X/S Big Orange Dot. I have older eyes and this type works fine on my G19. I routinely practice at 15 yards.
the front sight this was designed for is a .300 height FSP which clearly isn’t what you were using when filming your video. None of the competition shooters we’ve given this to for feedback have had any of these issues you were having. Some shot slightly low at first but for different reasons. They also shot around with it for several hundred rounds before shooting in a competition so they could get a feel for it and learn how to use it as it is an entirely new sighting solution. We can appreciate you wanting to just dive right in and document your experience, but we can’t help but comment how this video you have made doesn’t do a good job representing what this sight is capable of achieving. We would have loved the opportunity to communicate with you like we have been the other channels who will be releasing content over this sight soon. Let us know what you would like to do, we will give you the recommended FSP for free so you can have another opportunity to give this sight a true opportunity if that’s what you wish. We will even ship you ammo so it’s not on your dime. Again, we just can’t help but think this was a rushed production on your end without learning the sight first because we just haven’t seen anyone shoot like that with this sight after a good trial period of learning the sight and quickly figuring out how it works. Maybe we should do a better job creating content that illustrates those principles? Standby for more content coming soon with professional competition shooters showing you what this sight is truly capable of.
@@SOFIndustries he installed your sight and used it as advertised and showed the results. That’s not “rushing production” that’s showing the capabilities. Not sure if you are aware but he is a master class shooter in many divisions in IDPA. He was shooting the IDPA classifier with a master score with a red dot but couldn’t replicate those results with your sights. I’m curious to see what your “professional competition shooters” really look like.
The front sight used in the final session is a .300 height. I changed to that in an effort to be as fair to your product as possible. The only reason I used a supressor height in the match is because that's what it appeared to be in your promotional material. Your website specifically says "compatible with traditional front post sights and some modified sight posts" on a picture of someone holding it using a glock plastic front sight. If your module was designed for a certain height. You've not told the consumer about it, as there were no directions in the package, and the QR code just took me to your website. If you specify the height somewhere on your website, I couldn't find it. If there is a recommended sight height, you should tell your customer that, or sell the sight with a front post. For the cost, it would definitely be appropriate to include a front sight. On our comment thread on your video, I told you I would buy it and review it. I don't know how better to communicate my intention to you than to tell you what I'm going to do. So you had the opportunity to communicate with me. I'd probably think the same thing, the rushing the video thing, if I were you, I'd have to. But I rushed it no more than any other sighting system review. And if this is as every bit as good as a red dot, as you've claimed, every red dot review I've done has been treated similarly. Your product actually received more attention and trigger time than any red dot, in so far as an initial trial period. Red dots get zeroed and shot in a match, maybe 15 rounds. I shot your product while zeroing another red dot and shot around 100 rounds, then shot the video a few weeks later. The zeroing process wasn't shown in the video, the same as it isn't in any other video. Someone on your video commented that this is an analog red dot, and you replied, "Correct." And you've also commented that your module is every bit as good as a red dot. If it is, why does it need a longer trial period? So, I don't feel your sight was given unfair treatment. In fact, just the opposite, I went further with your system in an effort to be as fair to it as possible, with the limited information you provide to your customer. I appreciate your kind offer to send a front sight and ammo, I mean it that's very kind. However, I don't accept things like that from companies. I've done all the investing of time and effort I feel is warranted and appropriate with your system, and anyhow, I've already tried the height you'd send. I've got a shooting season beginning soon, so I'm set to training for that. You seem like good guys who genuinely believe you've got something here. I don’t agree. But I'm not unreasonable. I'll make you a deal. If you acknowledge these results, that it isnt as every bit as good as a red dot only you'll know, and I'll know. Just comment, "Please take it down," and I will. That will be the end of it. I'll just be one guy out there who didn't like it.
@@dz-214 We clearly need to be more clear in our instructions. Thank you for your feedback regarding the lack of information on installation and zeroing. We will be making that content and implementing those changes on our website immediately to prevent further mishaps like this from occurring. In regards to the FSP mishap, I can see your perspective on why you thought any FSP will do, even when the product description says “When paired with a .300” height, tritium or fiber-optic illuminated FSP, the sight picture mirrors that of an analog red dot.” And that is most definitely on us. In regards to the sight, we are more than confident that it works as intended and there will very shortly be several other videos posted that other high level comp shooters are currently making that will do a splendid job showcasing that. We aren’t really sure what you are doing at the end there that is causing similar issues, you stated that it’s a standard height Ameriglow FSP and that once again, isn’t what this sight was designed to be used in conjunction with. It sounded like you were using the two dots at the bottom, if that is the .300 height FSP, you don’t use the two dots at the bottom, you put it in the middle using the reference lines on the sides and top. We understand you seldom get another opportunity at a first handshake in the market (or anywhere) and that is on us. In regards to the offer, we aren’t concerned about the ratio of bad to good reviews on this product as those who have purchased (so far) and took to the range were genuinely interested in learning how this works and after figuring it out have used this to the desired effect of red dot accuracy and speed. If you would like to ship it back and get a refund, we understand. This video will make us a better company. We will be taking the info you have provided and will be doing a better job articulating what we clearly haven’t. We truly do appreciate you taking the time to try it out and make a video over it and are regretful on what we should have articulated better regarding installation and how to use it. Thank you again! Please let us know if there is anything else we can answer question wise or if there is anything else we can do for you.
@SOFIndustries Fair enough, guys. I appreciate your candor. I think it's fine to agree to disagree. And I've said it elsewhere if you haven't seen it, I'll say it again, (before hearing about the .300 designed FSP. I see now the place on your website that says so, but as you said it was confusing as in two other places it has conflicting compatibility information) that there is probably a front sight that will work better with this thing, and I am intrigued to see what others come up with. I'm not above discovering I was wrong, obviously. As I discussed, I was wrong about the thumb thing. Maybe time will prove me wrong about the module. Again, I appreciate your offer, but I'd prefer to keep it. I dont plan to do a lot more with it, especially during the shooting season, but I might come back to it at some point. Thanks for engaging.
Great video J.B. -thanks for buying and sharing your results! This ridiculous sight doesn’t provide shooter ability to perceive errors in alignment between muzzle and target (aka, “aiming”), particularly important on small / distant targets. Like you demonstrated, about the only range where potentially it could be reliably employed is within ~7 yards -ranges where use of sights is likely not needed anyway! Regarding keeping slide in battery with thumb while pressing muzzle into target: When instructing for State CJTC I regularly taught this technique (“Braced Contact”) to recruits and instructors -definitely proven viable and has been successfully used against both, two and four legged threats.
Hey if it works it's right, the thumbing the slide thing, it's just not something I know about or have experience with. If nothing else I learned about that from this experience!

With a trademarked name like the "Diamond of Death", it's so shocking these aren't more accurate......
