Important! Do NOT cut carbon fibre without proper respiratory, eye and hand protection, especially at home or any unventilated area. Thank you brothers for the comments. Learning by doing can have hidden dangers, so I appreciate it!
That's awesome! You'll love every part of it. The tail assembly is a little more complicated, but the video is coming out in 1-2 days. I will post the whole process weekly until it's programmed and in the air doing autonomous missions.
@@camc702 Great! Share the news once you’ve made some progress. Just released part 3 today about the tilt motors. Next up: Electronics and Ardupilot. 🛸
Hi, just came across your video, great stuff, keep it up! I was just wondering, do you have the settings for printing with the prefoamed LW PLA on the Bambu Lab?
Thanks so much for doing these great build videos. I am also building a Stallion. I have a Bambu X1C but having a hard time getting a good results printing with Polymaker LW PLA can you share all of your settings. Following your videos for my build. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Thank you for the kind words! Please DM @3DMOMCI on Insta for the print settings, since they were the ones who 3d printed the airframe. It took them a while but they nailed it eventually. Alternatively you can find print profiles in Flightory's Facebook page. Good luck with your build!
There is a light weight ABS available as well. If you want a printer to do engineering filament I'd look into a Qidi I have the Q1 and it's awesome for abs, nylon and even polypropylene.
Thanks for sharing! I've seen other wing builders use ABS, so I'm tempted to try it. Didn't know about the lightweight variant tho. How does Qidi compare to Bambu? Is it a noticeable improvement?
Oh wow, that's epic! How far along are you? I'm also currently building a Stingray VTOL, but without the gimbal. I certainly plan on adding one with onboard machine vision as soon as I do a few autonomous flight tests.
Absolutely! I'll do my best to upload weekly. It took me quite a while to get it in the air so I'll do my best to explain everything necessary to get airborne. Are you planning on building a fixed wing UAV?
you should reinforce this 3d print with some glass fiber, epoxy or resin. I am from france and also drone builder, i will be verry happy to work with you (we have same goals i think ^^)
That's interesting. I would love to learn how you do it. I am experimenting with engineering grade filaments but I fear their matte texture slows the aerodynamic boundary layer and clear-coat doesn't seem to "fill" the gaps. Get in touch with me at www.nomadiumrobotics.com
Of course Not. You can try to find free 3d models online (Thingiverse, etc) but I bet Flightory models will be superior, hence why they can only be purchased via their official website - I am not affiliated with them. You could try to message them for an extra discount. Cheers!
If you do much 3d printing where you want a good finish, you might want to buy an electric foot callus remover like shown in this video: 'Make Layer Lines Disappear in Seconds | The Best Way to Smooth 3D Prints' by M.M's Prop Shop > th-cam.com/video/gm5elGTTtyg/w-d-xo.html
@pathfinder.george You are welcome. I bought one after watching the video and have found it very useful for prints and a slew of other non-print items.

If you can, do it with a water bath as the dust can get everywhere.
Perfect timing on this, I'm planning to assemble a Stalion VTOL this weekend!

How’d it go? Building one next week.

Thank you! Unfortunately I don’t have settings for LW-PLA. Send a message to @3DMOMCI on insta or check Flightory’s Facebook page.
Using smooth on xtc 3d will make your 3d prints very smooth and stronger.
This looks... Laminar! Thanks for the suggestion - would solve a lot of issues.
Looks great, what kind of motors did you use?
Thanks! EMAX ECO II 1300kv. Any suggestions for motors?

building the super stingray here! I also bought the caddx walksnail with gm3 gimbal :)

what about the range bro ❤
Haven’t tested yet. The model is rated for 3-4h with a 20Ah battery.
Brother...... don't cut carbon fiber unprotected in you room....
Thanks for the heads up brother, I'll make sure to do that outside with proper protection.
can you show the electronics and flight controller configurations in detail in next video?
Absolutely! I'll do my best to upload weekly. It took me quite a while to get it in the air so I'll do my best to explain everything necessary to get airborne. Are you planning on building a fixed wing UAV?
@pathfinder.george yeah i build quads. But i wanna try vtols and heli once. Heli is expensive ngl and there is veryyyy less resources available for it

9:24 “I’ve made a huge mistake.” We’ve all been there. Anybody who hasn’t glued themselves to a part is either lying or has never assembled anything.
Indeed 😅
Ohh okay nvm it actually is stallion 😵💫.
I purchased and received zip file but there are no PDF instructions on assembly ?
@@retro93277 In that case the manual may be on the product page itself under the photos. That was the case for the Stingray.
@ thanks
PLEASE CAN YOU SHARE ME THE FILE

@pathfinder.george I am really broke here in Africa. Thanks if you can send it sir, I would provide an email.
If you cant afford the model you def cannot afford the components

I assume the investors said no and thats why your pitching it to us? lol.
Pretty much :) It's often a lot of No's until you get a Yes, as with most things in life.
What do you all here think about New Jersey? 9The 'Drone' situation)
please use gloves, eye protection, long sleeves, and a RESPIRATOR when cutting carbon fiber. youre going to fuck up your lungs and skin

This plane is from flighttory. Are you the designer?
I'm not the designer, just a very happy customer. His models are incredible.
