ive always been torn between angel/buffy and spike/buffy because they both genuinely loved her but in different ways. angel wanted to protect her and spike wanted her to be the best she could. it was and still is sad af watching her realize that she could never be with angel because of the curse he has on him. and it pisses me off that they ended the series with spike not believing buffy when she said she loved him. cause she did. clearly. all the feels, even more than a decade later lol
Yeah joss Whedon likes to toy with our feelings. It pisses me off that spike doesn’t know buffy loved him and it pisses me off that Angel can’t be with buffy because of his gay curse
She cared about Spike a lot because of how much she leaned on him, but she was never in love with him, that much was obvious. Both her and Angel never loved anyone as intensely as they loved one another. Even in the comics, Spuffy broke up cos they realized that they were better individually and as teammates in a crisis then as a couple, which has always been true.

It wasn’t as intense as the love and passion she had for Angel. The earlier seasons of Buffy proved that. She was wanting to be around Angel not just only because of a crisis and she hated when he only came around because of grave danger. In the comics if Angel had not killed Giles I think she would have stayed with him. Like you mentioned before she broke up with Spike in the comics because without there being a crisis there was nothing there between them so it clearly shows who Buffy heart belonged to
@@sym8774 yeah right, angel was the essence of the show paired with Buffy, so much is this true that the producers urged to make a show of angel only, i cant recall a spike show??... and don't get me wrong, spike is a formidable character specially in his arguments and scripts, but the audience always knew that angel is for the ages, he was the show, imagine the success of Buffy WITHOUT Angel, now you understand!

Without Buffy, and Sarah Michelle Gellar's wonderful acting and beauty, there would be no Buffyverse at all or Angel spinoff. And Angel was a boring show, especially in later seasons compared to Buffy's later seasons - which is why it got axed after season 5 compared to Buffy which fought to have 2 more seasons
This was touching scene angel had to pull off the acting as Angelus😈 in undercover and didn’t want to go far with the grim swine perform like last season😮💨 but worked out and the last lines were🥲💖 (since he won’t be sticking around long 💔til spin off!👍)

No, but he kissed her because Faith was trying to kill buffy, so angel made faith think that he would help kill buffy. That's why buffy needs a break. But angel still loves buffy. He only kissed faith to save buffy.
I finally figured out why it never worked for Bangel. It was just too too intense. I ship them still but this was never going to last. It was good while it lasted though 🥲
I don’t know, I feel like they could still work. Their love wasn’t just intense, it was enduring and unconditional so I believe they found their way back to one another and that Angel became human and they lived happily ever after. They both deeply deserve that.
