This case involves "racism" alright, AGAINST Daniel Penny! What a courageous young man to sacrifice his well-being and even life for a bunch of strangers!
I don't know if Pastor Doug will address this point. But in case he does not: The damage has been done. Yes, it's fantastic this man was not sent to prison. But the lesson has been made clear: DO NOT get involved, or else your life will be made a living hell. Sending that message was the whole point.
@@billybob-wx2re That's so easy to say from the comfort of a keyboard. But when you're in the moment, chaos and fear all around, adrenaline spiking, you see phones being whipped out to film, in the middle of that, having a split second hesitation can mean the difference between life or death. (Either for you, the attacker, or others.) People now have that hesitation. And even if he claims otherwise, so will he. THAT was the point of humiliation of a trial. The verdict almost didn't matter. They won either way.
May Go-d bless Daniel Penny! He was probably taught before he became a Marine to protect the weak and defenseless. This, however, is what the USMC does - protect and serve! Semper Fidelis, young man. I don't think I can bear to watch this. These godless criminals do whatever the blazes they want. I know Christ will deal with them someday. But, honestly, that does not help me in the present. At least this one won't be hurting anyone again. But then the whole world treats the criminal as the victim and the cop or other involved person (in this case, a true hero!) as the criminal. It enrages me on a level I cannot explain. I had to sit here day after day during the Floyd fiasco, getting message after message from my (former) church about "racism" and "justice" and "white privilege" and "lamenting." Lamenting for A CONVICTED VIOLENT FELON/DRUG ADDICT?! Shortly after the Chauvin verdict (which I was not really even following) there was a church leader sending out a video about how "justice" was done. It made me sick! But with everything else going on at that time, including my sick mother, I couldn't do much about it. I had already warned them about closing the church and had repeatedly raised concerns about the "woke" nonsense. I wonder, did they bother sending such a video this time?
He’s a solid guy and the sad part is someone does something to save manyyyyyyyy possible lives. And some of yall attack him as a racist …. I can not believe the world we live in now. He woulda done the same to a white guy, Asian , Indian etc.. people generally join the military because they want to help defend their people. The govt failed the man who died… not the people…
The problem with what Penny did and what could have led to criminal prosecution is based the way the NYS Penal code reads in the justification of the legal use of physical force or physical deadly force. The law can be interpreted in a number of ways most of the wording being relative and subjective. This gives the prosecutor a great deal of latitude to use political or personal bias. I have to study the NYS penal code every year and pass a test in order to maintain an Armed Guard license. Since NYPD eliminated any form of a chokehold in the arrest of one engaging in criminal behavior it gave the DA even more opportunity to manipulate the language of the law in regard to excessive force. Here is where all the subjectivity of the way the law reads can be a matter of interpreted. Just about everyone who weighed in on the Penny case never referenced Article 35 of the NYS penal code. Penny's guilt or innocence is based ultimately on the way the law will be understood by a jury. Whatever political bias may have existed the fact is that a Grand Jury whose mind no one could possibly know indicted Penny. The NY DA has to get past the grand jury who must vote that there is enough evidence to at least bring a defendant to trial. They deemed the charges valid under the law. In fact, the DA will proceed and is duty bound to so move with criminal charges if they believe they can find one. And the way the law reads as I said that is easy to do in a case like Penny. Based on the law there was a case that could be made against him. Or me or anyone who decides to do what they believe is best to save and protect lives. It is a risk you take. The law that prevents or permits the legal use of physical or physical deadly force favors the criminal not the law-abiding citizen. Keep that in mind. Penny is fortunate and we believe was also vindicated by God when the jury deadlocked for three days on the manslaughter charge. But here is the head scratcher. Why were the same jurors able to come so quickly with a unanimous not guilty verdict on the lesser charge? Same evidence. Why did the six who were ready to vote guilty on the manslaughter change to not guilty on the criminally negligent homicide charge? Because of the way these laws can be interpreted in different circumstances. This is far more complicated than one might perceive on the surface. In the law class a dispute will always arise about a particular case, particularly over the issue of excessive force and in my last class sure enough the Penny case was discussed. An ambitious and overzealous prosecutor for whatever reason will find a crime if they look hard enough and it is at that point the Jury must do the right thing and prevent the miscarriage of justice. Every time a police officer uses his or her firearm to seriously injure or cause the death of someone they must go before the Grand Jury in NY to see if the use of force was justified by the same laws that the Penny case had to be judged by. I would admonish all please know the laws of your state before you decide to take any action against a potential criminal especially if you carry a weapon. I praise God that Mr. Penny was found not guilty because they would have tried him again, I believe if the jury hung on the lesser charge. Now comes the civil case against him so this is not over. Pray for this man he will need it. Pray for his protection too because Burn Loot Murder (BLM) has essentially put a hit out on him. Most importantly pray for his soul and salvation.
Yeah! Why didn't you feature him in a sit down long form interview during his trial? I'm sure literally having your life hang in the balance and after being in that courtroom all day, he could have made time for a low circulation TH-cam interview. Pretty selfish of him
@BrettShadow don't be silly. He has been going through this for 18 months. They could have showed him some support way sooner, before it was "safe" to do so.
@@Nobodyofimportance2u I am not too familiar with the channel so you may be 100% correct here... With that said, I think most if not all scenarios should be approached in an "innocent until proven guilty" mindset rather than putting someone in the impossible position of attempting to prove a negative. Meaning that should any amount of evidence be produced to show the channel is choosing a side, or failing to choose, or riding the fence, then I am with you 100% on calling them out. Something like a leaked email or call or something ya know. But without any evidence even circumstantial, I choose to lean my assumption to the side in which there was no discontent, fence riding, or malicious or untoward motive. As soon as the threat of killing someone comes out of a mouth anyone has a reasonable claim of fear for life.
Thank you Daniel Penny for doing the right thing. I could have been one of the older ladies you helped protect on that train that day. Thank you sir.
It wasn't a ''choke-hold death'', it was an overdose death, likewise with G. Floyd case.
I thought George Floyd died of COVID. /s
That is a lie, all you have to do is google it. George Floyd’s autopsy concluded be died from homicide caused by the knee.
Floyd’s autopsy states otherwise. Stop lying to protect bad cops.

In a place like NYC yes. Criminal friendly. In NY politics the criminal is the victim not the other way around. I live here and know firsthand.
You are right, that is the message. But it is an awful message and Christian men must not be lead by the messages of evil people.

When someone forcefully intrudes onto others, they automatically loose the right not to be intruded upon themselves.
