Lupins transformation to werewolf in the prisoner of azkaban is not only one of the most horrifying parts of the whole series, it's also one of my favourite werewolf transformations ever. The way the moon shines so unnaturally bright on his face as his pupils fill his entire eye making them completely black is just a fantastic bit of cinematography

I read that J.K. Rowling responded to a question of why more vampires were not included in the books by saying she felt that lore had already been explored so much in other works it was not necessary.

Something I've always wondered was what would happen if a werewolf became an Animagus or an Animagus became a werewolf? Would they turn into an ordinary wolf like how a werewolf's Patronus will become a wolf or would it mix and allow them to turn into their werewolf form on command.
In most cases being a werewolf is a curse. If the wolf replaces the patronus its likely to be very pervasive magically speaking. I doubt a werewolf could be an animagus as shifting at will goes against the curse. If an animagus got bit after the fact would likely lose that ability.

Ever seen the "Owl house" the show feature and interesting werewolf like curse, instead of a wolf the curse transform it's victim into a owl type beast that will attack anyone or anything it's see. The curse is keep at bay most of the time by frequent use a magical elixir. Later in the show the curse victim, Eda end up making peace with the owl beast inside her and gained the ability to make a partial transformation at will while keeping control of herself. Eda was cursed as a teenager and during her first transformation severely maimed her own father something she blame herself for even if her father does not.
There is a Japanese Anime called Shiki you should look at, unique play on Vampires I would have to say, the English dub is quite good also, 22 episodes in total so relatively long
Lol "Trocar" is a great vampire name, and so very Rowling... A trocar is a medical device with three sharp edges used for withdrawing fluid from a body, most notably blood. There is also a line of hunting arrow broadheads produced by Muzzy called the "trocar", although there are models available in both three and four blade arrangements if memory serves, as well as a mechanical variety. That said though the original model line was a three-blade design. Anyway I just thought that was cool haha...
IMO the most interesting version of werewolves that I have seen in media is Skyrim. The view of it being essentially a (typically) incurable blood disease that grants great power but also damns you to Hircine's hunting grounds instead of Sovengarde (or any other afterlife the races of Tamriel believe in) when you die. Some may view it as a blessing and enjoy the beastly power and hunger that it brings them, while others see it as a curse/disease that needs to be cured for them to be with their friends and family after death.
Bill Night is a great actor, I will watch anything with him in it. The Worricker Trilogy was a good series where he was very under toned compared to his vampire/pirate movies, I'm just impressed with his acting, he can be very underscore or overwhelming and everything in between. Anyways, I'm glad you're jumping into the HP universe.
Since we know so little about the vampires in this universe, it would be cool to get a stand alone novel or maybe a trilogy by Rowling from a vamps perspective. Could be a fun and different way back into the wizarding world

I absolutely love Harry Potter, I especially love the supernatural creatures, I just wish we got to see more vampires and werewolves in the movies, it would be amazing to see vampire or werewolf fight wizard.
If you haven’t yet I recommend buying a copy of “fantastic beasts and where to find them” (by “newt scamander”) it is an actual book with all the creatures you read about and see in the harry potter franchise. But also a lot of creatures that are only mentioned once or not at all. I found it to be very interesting. It also includes drawings supposedly made by newt himself and notes about what to do when you encounter them. And stories about things they did

I'd really like it if you could cover the werewolf film Bad Moon. It was based off the book Thor. The werewolf in that film is rather unique. One of the worse werewolf curses I think. On Harry Potter Actually there are Dhampir AKA half vampires in the HP universe. There is at least one half vampire. On the werewolves Lupin was bitten by Greyback at the age of 5. Ironically Remus name alongside his secret name Romulus in the 7th book are the names of two brothers whom founded the city of Rome and both were suckled by a she wolf. The shrieking shack isn't haunted like many wizard folk think it is. But actually the shrieking many heard was from Lupin on full moon nights whenever he transformed. The whomping willow was planted above the entrance to prevent Lupin from exiting that way.
I always found that odd. I mean Remus had a place to transform that kept the students safe, but seeing as they visited the shrieking shack when they were in Hogsmeade wouldn't that have left the town open to attacks from Lupin?

So he wouldn't be able get to the forest either?

I have to watch to learn about that canon. I am writing a HP fanfiction in which the main villain is lord Jameson Gravefield, a disgraced knight of the round table who became one of Merlin's deadliest foe after he became addicted to the taste of magical blood. After his defeat at the hands of Merlin, he became the leader of the Gravefield rebellion, a coalition of Vampires/Werewolves/Goblins/Centaurs/giants/etc seeking to end the wizard supremacism against "lesser magical creatures". The war that followed (around the time of Hogwart fundation) was going so poorly for the wizards that they eventually were forced to grant Lord Gravefield his own hogwart house to calm his bloodlust. (Gravefield house, purple and white, bat emblem, sacrificial dagger artifact) But of course Hogwart staff seeked many times to abolish that 5th house due to its characteristics such as hedonism and revangeful spirit that would potentially be sought at the price of bloodshed. Gravefield views also considered violence to be justified in the search for freedom and justice, and that punishment could legitimely go far beyond the crime. As a result, most of muggle born students who turned dark wizards were or would have been in house Gravefield. Salazar Slitheryn himself loathed the house, whose students had a tendency to respond to "slytherin bullism" with far more violence than any other house. But any attempt at dissolving the house over the centuries were met with Lord Gravefield to get out of his castle in Transilvania (where he was better known in the muggle world as count Dracula) and use his dagger (I ll explain more on that dagger later) to dispel muggle repelling charms on wizard settlments, leading to increases of witch burnings. In the 18th century, Lord Gravefield was defeated by the muggle vampire hunter Van Helsing, Hogwart took the opportunity to abolish Gravefield house and send all documents about in the restricted section In january 1900, Lord Gravefield rises from the grave like he did after Merlin defeated him. Hermione even knew a gravefirkd dagger strike on a horcruxe would be guaranted to destroy it but wouldnt let anyone in the trio do it as many wizards turned to squib after touching the dagger During the summer between the fanfiction golden trio Ginny/Luna 3rd to 4th year and Neville 4th to 5th year, a group of deatheaters decide to celebrate the return of the dark lord by mass murdering what they thought was a muggle college student pool party in Italy, they get torned to shredd and drained of blood after the horror of realizing their killing curses had no effect on the "muggle students"
Werewolves are more of a bigger deal than vampires in the harry potter series. Professor Lupin is a werewolf Fenrir Greyback is a werewolf Chiara Lobosca from Hogwarts mysteries is a werewolf. The wizarding world seems to fear werewolves more than vampires. Also werewolves are the most scariest magical beasts from the Harry Potter series. Also in some beliefs becoming a werewolf is a gift not a curse
Monkshood would be better for werewolves because wolfsbane is poisonous, monkshood on the other hand can increase a person’s white blood cell count. (Edit: btw, monkshood and wolfsbane are NOT the same plant but they are RELATED to each other in the Aconitum family of plants.)

At that time he didn't have any werewolf slaves and there were none that could control themselves or ever change back into a human form. He kept him alive in order to control the first vampire. There's a Vampire movie called Revenant from 2009. I think you should make a video of it, because the way it depicts Vampires is very close to how they are in folklore.
I love the vampires and werewolves from the Dresden Files book series (the tv series barely touched on either). 4 courts of vampires with very different power sets and many forms of werewolf/lycanthropes with multiple differences.

If unicorn's blood leaves you a half life as a curse.... Then drinking phoenix blood, a creature of life and rebirth, would curse you with vampirism or make you an inferi... right?
Inferi, from what I remember, are corpses enchanted by dark magic. So I doubt it. Drinking unicorn blood was meant to curse you because of how pure a unicorn is. If you were to drink the blood of a phoenix you may be healed, as its tears also have a healing affect. Though, I don't know what would happen if you did somehow drink the blood of a phoenix.
It should also be mentioned a human attacked by a werewolf in human form, the victim will also have more of a craving for rawer meat and slight restlessness during the night, but they arnt a werewolf nor have any physical differences.
if i remember right, they said that only witches and wizards could become a werewolf. that even if a werewolf bit a muggle and let them live, they would end up dying. i could be wrong on this one though

After his defeat at the hands of Merlin, he became the leader of the Gravefield rebellion, a coalition of Vampires/Werewolves/Goblins/Centaurs/giants/etc seeking to end the wizard supremacism against "lesser magical creatures". The war that followed (around the time of Hogwart fundation) was going so poorly for the wizards that they eventually were forced to grant Lord Gravefield his own hogwart house to calm his bloodlust. (Gravefield house, purple and white, bat emblem, sacrificial dagger artifact)
But of course Hogwart staff seeked many times to abolish that 5th house due to its characteristics such as hedonism and revangeful spirit that would potentially be sought at the price of bloodshed. Gravefield views also considered violence to be justified in the search for freedom and justice, and that punishment could legitimely go far beyond the crime. As a result, most of muggle born students who turned dark wizards were or would have been in house Gravefield. Salazar Slitheryn himself loathed the house, whose students had a tendency to respond to "slytherin bullism" with far more violence than any other house. But any attempt at dissolving the house over the centuries were met with Lord Gravefield to get out of his castle in Transilvania (where he was better known in the muggle world as count Dracula) and use his dagger (I ll explain more on that dagger later) to dispel muggle repelling charms on wizard settlments, leading to increases of witch burnings.
In the 18th century, Lord Gravefield was defeated by the muggle vampire hunter Van Helsing, Hogwart took the opportunity to abolish Gravefield house and send all documents about in the restricted section
In january 1900, Lord Gravefield rises from the grave like he did after Merlin defeated him. The two world wars and the cold war draw his attention to the muggle world, explaining his lack of involvment in the books events.
However Tom Riddle did read about him and considered making a horcruxe out of Gravefield dagger, but it turns out it is made of a rare kind of silver that destroys magic (a strike from the dagger can dispel any protego shield, even the ones cast over a large area, and a cut from its blade will instantly kill you even faster if you attempt to cure it with magic) Voldemort instantly understands that a piece of his soul would get instantly destroyed if thrown into the dagger. Hermione even knew a gravefirkd dagger strike on a horcruxe would be guaranted to destroy it but wouldnt let anyone in the trio do it as many wizards turned to squib after touching the dagger
During the summer between the fanfiction golden trio Ginny/Luna 3rd to 4th year and Neville 4th to 5th year, a group of deatheaters decide to celebrate the return of the dark lord by mass murdering what they thought was a muggle college student pool party in Italy, they get torned to shredd and drained of blood after the horror of realizing their killing curses had no effect on the "muggle students"
Werewolves are more of a bigger deal than vampires in the harry potter series.

Chiara Lobosca from Hogwarts mysteries is a werewolf.
The wizarding world seems to fear werewolves more than vampires.
Also werewolves are the most scariest magical beasts from the Harry Potter series.

12:48 Fenrier is a odd case as he is more beast like than most other werewolf's, its almost like he is always partly turned so that could explain the odd effect the attack has on bill but we would need to know more about other werewolf's as we only really see chalk and cheese with the examples of Loping and Greyback so what cant really say if all werewolfs would leave non healable wounds when in their human form.

You're wrong about why Victor didn't kill the first werewolf. At that time he didn't have any werewolf slaves and there were none that could control themselves or ever change back into a human form. He kept him alive in order to control the first vampire. Also about the actress being married to the director for the first 2 films.

Inferi, from what I remember, are corpses enchanted by dark magic. So I doubt it. Drinking unicorn blood was meant to curse you because of how pure a unicorn is. If you were to drink the blood of a phoenix you may be healed, as its tears also have a healing affect.
Though, I don't know what would happen if you did somehow drink the blood of a phoenix.
